I'm gonna watch it tonight. It has to be better than the first film. :)

Well I enjoyed it for sure, soundtrack was great, visuals fantastic, decent acting, and I really enjoyed the design.

It was slow paced, (enough that my wife disappeared off to bed before half way}. and I feel like if I hadn't read the book recently it may have been a little disjointed.

But I'm not dissapointed at all, and am looking forward to part 2.

Well, may I suggest rewatching Avatar? Other world devils come to take a valuable resource from the indigenous but have their plans thwarted by an individual who just wants to do the right thing. Cheesy dialogue but lots to look at and well paced. I'm waiting for a mash up on Youtube of such movies. Maybe, "Avatar Dances with Wolves on a Dune?";)
Love Avatar. I thought it was supposed to be a second one.

They were working on new tech for underwater motion capture for some time. Part 2 will probably be the most expensive movie ever made by the time of its release. Would like to see a 4K/atmos disc release of the first one.

Drove through it a couple of times and spent the night at the Three Rivers Casino and Resort once. Oregon has the coolest Art Deco bridges and the scenery from Florence to Eugene is breathtaking. I need to get back up there sometime. Actually, the drive from the Golden Gate Bridge all the way up to Port Angeles Washington is awesome.

I'm gonna check this out later today! I've been largely avoiding any videos or reviews because I knew I wasn't gonna see it right away, but it does sound like they mighta just got it right this time. I'm stoked to be seeing it finally.

I've watched it twice now. I picked up a few things that I missed the first time. Overall, I think this was a pretty good take on the material. It didn't get bogged down in all the worldbuilding details and had fewer obvious infodumps.

I wasn't a fan, but that's just me. If you like drap, miscast movies that run at a snail's pace and have no ending then this one will be right up your alley. To be fair, there are a few great shots that I'm sure will look good on your TV.
Have you read the books? There's a lot of world building and lore involved in the books. It's a rich, detailed universe with a lot of nuanced storytelling. Just wondering if you had a point of comparison. I'm gonna watch it tonight.
