I'm playing back a Peter Gabriel DVD (The Videos) on a DTS compatible Sony DVD player through my Yamaha RX-V2600. The DD option works normally. The DTS 96/24 option requires a 30dB increase in volume to match the DD version!!
(My receiver's GUI shows this too when "signal info" is accessed, it shows a "diaglog normalization" requirement of -30dB).
Is this normal? Is the DVD defective? I don't have anymore 96/24 discs to compare too.
BTW, standard DTS discs play at normal volume levels. I think that the DVD player is OK but I might be wrong.
Any one have experience with this?
Thanks
