There are people who refuse to hear difference and slight those who do because it does not comport with their own bias.
Some have spent a great deal of money on equipment and must reject all such thinking - Stop me before I buy again :p :D

I spend all kinds of money on equipment just so I can defend myself against those who claim to hear all kinds of significant differences. ;)

But anyway, you hear what you hear. Everyone can compare for themselves and be the final judge. Don't take my word or anyone's word for it.

I feel like I'm playing Twister in this thread with you, Nestor. I'm just expressing an experienced opinion. I get it that you don't agree, but twisting my opinion into consciously spreading FUD for the purpose of asserting that there are audible differences between electronics is just silly. And what people espouse on one subject does affect their credibility on other subjects.

I too, am expressing an experienced opinion, and what you assert is unprovable. So why bother saying it, if not to cast doubt on ABX testing?

Einstein held the opinion that the universe was static until Hubble proved him completely wrong. Shall we toss out the theory of relativity based on his now deflated credibility?

...Frankly, I think the problem the audio industry has is that there isn't a compelling test, IMO, for subtle audible differences. ...
There is. It's called bias-controlled listening tests. Accept it.

You can save a great deal of money buying "DBT approved gear - guaranteed to sound just like everything else". :p

I think it is a mistake to take experiences that do not match your own personally.

My subjective experience may have no bearing on yours and visa versa. But when you dismiss others experience as "perceived", that is the aggressive position not the defensive one ;)

On amps, I take the same position as Audioholics, that amps even when driven within their limits can sound differently. ;)

Einstein had a lot of positions I don't agree with, like the acceptability of marrying one's first cousin, but relativity is not an opinion, it is a scientific theory based on mathematics that have been proven correct by predictions and subsequent observations that those predictions were correct. He didn't like quantum mechanics either, but he contributed enough in 1905 alone to reasonably support the argument some people have that he was the greatest scientist who has ever lived. You probably need to think this through a little better.

So there you have it.

Basically there will be people who think they can hear a significant difference between DACs and Amps and there will be people who think they cannot hear a significant difference.

You mean people like Gladys Kravitz?

Old thread, but still relevant. Not quite as eternal as speaker wires, but we're getting there :)
