Yup. He's me about 8 months ago.

We all start somewhere! I started in the 80's by hooking up an amp and towers to our console tv to watch concert videos! (After tangling up my dads reel to reel stuff in the late 70's lol)

I kind of got my start in my teens. My stepfather (father as well) was in a band and had most of the audio equipment. He died in a motorcycle accident when I was 12 and we inherited the pa system, speakers, cabling, etc. I figured out how to hook everything up to a very nice cassette deck. Man, that thing was LOUD. Had many a party at my house when I was young.

Gollehon speakers. This is the only pic I could find after a quick search. These ones are pretty beat up.

Thank you. It was a very long time ago so I've come to grips.

I don't know anything about the Nvidia Shield Pro. My setup is all hardwired to the intenet and I use HDMI from my laptop along with everything else to my receiver. I use my Xbox 1s to stream/play most of my videos.

I have ps4 my self but mostly for the kids.. too bad xbox and ps4 have limitations on audio when it comes to streaming

Even my old sony home theater in a box supported dts ma and dolby true hd but only on bluray discs.. if i hooked something through hdmi it wont process it

Does the PS4 not support newer codecs? I thought it did. I know I can get those to play on my Xbox 1s by setting it to bitstream out. On the other hand I only have a 5.2 setup so I'm not concerned with 7.2 or 11.2.

Not when it comes to streaming. I have a large library of mkv movies (mostly 5.1 dts) and it wouldnt play them.. as for hd audio (like donnie brasco says) forget about it

Here's another question guys.. how come loudspeakers are still analogue? Is it physically challenging to create a digital loudspeaker?

Yes it does. It might not do pcm by default though.

You mean the default can be changed?
You should be able to find a menu on your PS4 that has something to do with audio. You may need to manually change a setting to get it working right. I'm not familiar with the PS4 or the correct setting. Somebody here will know. I'll do a quick search and see what I can find.
