1/4" plate steel works great. Increases the mass of the cabinet and that will make everything sound more transparent.

Or, you could get some 1/4" cabinet grade plywood, cut it to size, make the cutouts for cabling and fans, smooth the edges and paint it black before screwing it on.

I don't have money to burn and I really don't have that much money. I'm a bargain shopper. I purchased all my B&W gear pre-owned. I paid $4,000 for my 802's and the only reason I bought them was because I knew I could sell them for that or more if and when I wanted to.

Same goes for my cars. I buy all my cars pre-owned and basically 50% of what they sell for new.

I have 2 kids and an Ex-Wife, so I am far from having money to burn. Fortunately, I make enough to be comfortable, but trust me, I bust my tail to make what I make... No Trust fund baby or a product of nepotism here...

I think it was to me... Not a big deal, I just don't want anyone getting false impressions and that I don't care about spending money. Don't get me wrong, I like nice things, but I like getting very good deals on them too...

Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered new main and a single center bi-wire from Bestdealcables. They look to be really nice based on the pics on your post and their site. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to sell my snake oil Rockefellers when they come in. Based on going prices, I can get almost $1,000 for them. It's crazy. I paid around $800 for the 3 cables.

Forums like these are great. With all the hype and marketing today, having a resource that cuts through the Cr*p is great...
