Hey Sheep, how's it goin'?
Body
D300
Lenses
Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 (FX)
Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 (DX) - bought with body
Nikkor 200mm f/2 (FX)
The 17-55mm is an excellent lens but it cannot match the 14-24mm in terms of sharpness. Besides, eventually I intend on changing to a full frame (FX) body so the 17-55mm is effectively living on borrowed time at present. The 14-24mm is a keeper.
The 200mm f/2 is an absolute beast of a lens. It's ultra expensive and weighs a ton. However, the sharpness (and everything else for that matter) of this lens is simply breathtaking. This lens is also a keeper. I also have the 1.4x telecovertor for this lens.
All I really need now, in terms of lenses, is a standard zoom. I had considered the 24-70mm f/2.8 but it's not quite as close to perfect as the 14-24mm and 200mm are in their respective focal length range. Therefore, I've decided to wait until something better comes along. The good news is that I'm not in any rush and so can easily afford to wait.
Cheers, and thanks for your interest.
