PS...I feel bad for you guys when Dixon went down. After being in the hunt for the title game for nearly the entire season....now they'll do well to finish bowl season in the top 25. What do you think his prospects are in the NFL?? Do you think he'll be a WR?

I think there is no chance the Ducks will finish in the top 25. They're basically a freshman/soph offensive team right now.

Dixon is a tough call. He kinda sucked in his first pro baseball season, but he may go back to that. I think Dixon will indeed get drafted high in the NFL and play as a QB. He'd be pretty effective running a pro set or even West Coast offense. His passing improved unbelievably this season...he was around 75% completions (!!!)...most of the incompletions were drops. Now, whether he succeeds as a pro QB, that's another question. But he's a really smart kid (he has already graduated from Oregon). He could go far.

'Twas a huge shame to see him go down...but that's the nature of the option offense...even the spread option that Oregon runs. The QB is prime beef for the oppposing defense, and most option teams sign on 6 or 7 new qb's every year. How did Vince Young last so long???

I guess Missouri is overrated @ #1. Then again, they handled Illinios on the road and I recall Illinios took care of business in YOUR HOUSE;)!! I agree with Tomorrow about facing USC in the Rose Bowl. That will undoubtedly be a classic. However, this season been so wacky its possible that the Tiger win their game and W.Virginia losses:eek:.

Oh one last thought, what happens if both 1 & 2 lose this weekend and LSU kills the VOLS and USC does likewise to UCLA. Will that open the door for Georgia or it can't because they didn't win their conference.

No...the door remains open for Georgia. In 2001, Nebraska lost the Big 12 Conference playoff to Colorado and went to the big game. The reason I know this? HA, glad you asked. ;) Oregon was ranked second in both the writers and coaches polls (to #1 Miami), and Nebraska ended up ranked #2 in the BCS. So Miami kills Nebraska and the Ducks destroyed Colorado. There is never any justice. Gahhh...what a goofy game and season... :D

Oh yeah,

I periodically suffer from memory loss:eek:. I do remember that scenario and it created a bit of an uproar! Makes you wonder why they insist on using that stupid points system. Then again, its all about the mighty dollar and we know the networks want the glamour programs;).

OSU vs. ?

Have you ever seen a stranger year than this? I could see the Sooners beating Mizzo, but who you've thought Pitt doing what they did:eek:.

One thing for sure OSU will be playing either Virginia Tech, Georgia or Lsu. I know fans of the PAC 10 would like to see USC but that Stanford loss is a real eyesore. This will leave the 3 aforementioned teams with LSU winning the SEC title today and having beaten VA Tech and both common opponents that have beaten Georgia makes this a no brainer.:D

All I know is BUCKEYE fan really doesn't care!!

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Personally....I think Mizzou, KU, and WVU would have proven to be easy whipping posts for the Buckeyes. Now that they're all out of the NC picture....now the Buckeyes will have to beat a really tough team to win the national title.:)

LETS GO BUCKEYES!!!!!! Big step #1........the first step to winning a national title is playing in the BIG GAME!!

..............CHECK.................

I think it's about time Tressel improves his record to 2-1 in BCS national championship games!!

Bring it on!!!

PS.... I think I need another beer:D

OUCH....I just strained my shoulder while patting myself on the back with the "Careful what you wish for" semi-prediction about OSU playing a TWO loss team. That said, I think OSU 'might' be a good opponent for Hawaii, lol.

USC is the best team in the country right now, but as Billy said...omg...Stanford??? Best team in the country during the season....without a doubt the Ducks, before all the injuries to every starting skill player. (Now one of the worst teams with that 5th string qb. :()

I don't believe it matters who OSU plays. As much as I'd like for them to win...they're gonna get their hienies whooped....probably by LSU. Another prediction...sorry B_Nut.

It's most likely going to be LSU, and LSU will get it's 3rd loss of the season:cool:

Les Miles will soon be spelled LLes, and he will be happy he didn't take the Michigan job because he would have ended up exactly like LLLLLLoyd....with lots of "L's" :D

I expect a good game regardless of who OSU plays.

Congrats to OSU. Well deserved to be in the NC game. I dont understand the media fascination with LSU. THey could easily have 4 or 5 losses and they are still acknowledged as one of the best teams in the country. Georgia or Oklahoma deserves to be in the NC game and thats coming from a USC fan.

Normally I'd predict that Hawaii is going to get royally creamed, but this season has been way too unpredictable...

Now that the Gators are completely out of the picture for Bowl games how biased do you think this will make judges against Tebow for the Heisman? He's already got the Sophomore bias against him.

He should win hands down! Tebow is the only player in NCAA history to pass and throw for 20 TD's in a single season. Unfortunately, like you mentioned since he has 2 more years of eligibility they'll over look him. However, that wasn't as bad as what the BCS did to Missouri. Kansas give me a break:rolleyes:.

I'm reading through these, and laughing at this post. How funny what you predicted happened. How could Pitt win that game? That's as bad as the Michigan loss to Appalachian State game.

It's hard to believe LSU jumped from no. 7 to no. 1 in the polls, but with everything else that happened, it only makes sense.

I hope Tressel does a better job preparing his troops compared to last year. Last year we had the better team. The time off killed us, our QB got lazy, fat, and big headed, and Florida took advantage of it.

OSU can't afford another loss like like last year. The Big 10 being a powerhouse conference is gone.

I don't see Illinois going to Pasadena and coming out a victor. I hope they do, but USC is at the top of their game.

Penn State has a tough game as well against A&M.

Michigan State vs BC will be a good game.

Purdue/Central Michigan - is that a joke? Way to back yourself into a toilet bown, Purdue.

Indiana/Oklahoma State will be close, yet few care about that outcome.

I'd love to see Michigan run over Florida. (not all OSU fans hate Michigan - the better they are, the better the Big 10 appears).

Finally, what's up with the GMAC bowl coming one day before the National Championship? Anyone going to watch? Anyone know who's playing?

I agree that the Big 10 isn't very strong! Outside of your BUCKEYES, since 2000 the Big 10 has only won 6 bowl games and your OSU won 4 of them;).
