.....Mark, it confuses them when we come back non-flustered....at our age, we know we ain't gonna' fight nobody no matter what, and will seek to settle it with words spoken in the right attitudes....and, if our attitudes are in the right place, we won't seek to belittle in any way....we're all here to learn, or should be, but at the same time, we want to participate too, sure.....

From some of the indirect digs being thrown about (I'm more into direct digs, myself), it would appear that some people don't know that some lucky people can be semi-retired, work out of their home, select their clients, set their own hours and charge whatever theitclients feelthey deserve. Ahhh.. the joys of telecommuting.

 Does this mean you get to sit around the house all day in your shorts and tee-shirt while watching TV, surfing the web, eating junk food, drinking beer and occasionally talking to clients on the phone to pay the bills?

If so, I hate you................................yes, I'm just jealous!;)

Johnny, if it's so bad here why stick around. You obviously think the admin is biased and is "brainwashing" us simpletons.

Divided, as in you and hifi honey are half of this forum? I've seen quite a few people here running Polks and haven't seen Clint, Gene or any of the mods bash them. I think you guys are making something out of nothing.

"The force can have a powerful effect on the weak minded, Luke"

You really expected an improvement with that cable? Didn't you read and comprehend ANYTHING this site has to offer on that subject?

JC, we interact on this site based not on sight, but on what we read from each other. If I talked to you like you were a "cheese eating high school student" then it was because of what you said or how you said it. And, from the maturity exhibited in your most recent posts, you're not too interested in doing anything to change that perception.

And, hey, I like cheese. A nice , runny brie with some seedless champagne grapes is hard to beat.

Yes advertising can be very manipulative to weak minded folks. People with weak minds shouldn't do the following:
1) Vote
2) Watch TV or listen to talk radio (see #7,8)
3) Read magazines or websites with paid advertisers
4) Read the newspaper
5) Look at billboards while driving
6) Drive
7) Watch Beavis & Butthead, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Simpsons, South Park, or any other cartoon where characters suffer bodily harm or use weapons in a humoristic manner.
8) Watch conspiracy shows, Soap Opera's, Reality TV
9) Shop at the mall
10) participate in forum discussions

If anything i am guilty of being a tad defensive. I never, ever said there was a Conspiracy Theory. That is you reading my posts and taking them out of context.

If you read carefully you will see me asking WHY we never hear about certain brands like Polk . This thread was initially started as a Polk bashing session and frankly I am tired of people doing this. It works both ways. If Polk has never been reviewed, whether because they won't let Audioholics do so, or whether Audioholics refuses to for their own reasons, how can anyone make the decision that they are not a good product. it's because generally speaking, misinformed, uneducated people who are led down the path of gullability, assume BB sells them so they must be crap.

In theory, "Audioholics Product of the Year" awards are really a farce because Audioholics has not reviewed all products so how do they can make this claim?

The awards should be "Audioholics Products of the Year We Have Tested".

.. all you Polk bashers can forget about saying what you are about to...I am not insinuating Polk Audio is a "Product of the year".

And for the record, I do own some Products of the Year as you can see by my signature. I have the best DVD player, best Plasma TV, and best receiver the people on these forums have said were the best in their class. I am admitting I read these forums and take advice. hell, I come here for advice EVERY day about things and enjoy the reading. The point from the first thread, when the Polk bashing started, was to read other forums and websites as Audioholics is not the last word as much as most people around here seem to think.

You're sort of contradicting yourself here. That would be "best of those tested". :)

Well since everybody else has bothered to post in this thread I will too. As far as Polks not be reviewed here, theres ALOT of speakers that arent reviewed here. I have Polks, have I ever felt they were bashed on this forum.. no. I've seen bashing and Polk is not being picked on here. I bought mine because I liked the way they sounded, I looked for reviews on the RTi's for some time and it was not just Audioholics that wasnt reviewing them, no one was. I found a single review on some RTi4's and that was all I could find after two days of searching. I know alot of people have different opinions on Polk speakers and I have some good ones and bad ones myself, Polk subs ALL suck but I feel they have as good or better build as any speaker I've seen in there respective price categories. Hell, I've had a RTi4 fall 7 feet to my hard wood floor and the cabinet looked fine and I still use it. So thats my stance on Polk products.
I agree that you should research in different forums. As far as the rest of all this, I figure if your on this forum your probably close to 18 or older in order to be able to afford to have this hobby, why don't we all act like we are :)

We can agree on that. Opinions are like ''''holes, we all have one. You insulting my intelligence and me firing back an insult is very childish. Whether I started it or not,

and furguson, if you haven't heard the Polk bashing you haven't been here long. Trust me. As the owner of $2000 worth of Polks you notice these things.

Rather than keep arguing, lets find out why some feel Polk get a bad rap.

Personally, it's because of the different levels of products they sell. You can pick up a pair of Polk bookshelves right now at Circus City for $79 - yes a pair. I'm not aware that Best Buy carries Polk - at least not near me.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polk-Bookshelf-Speaker-M10-/sem/rpsm/oid/131997/catOid/-12950/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I've not seen Polk's RTi or LSi series speakers in local big box stores in years. My feeling was they were priced out of reach for most consumers in these stores. When Bose is slamming advertising down average joe's throat on their acousticrap systems for around a grand, no way are big box dwellers going to throw down a grand or more for a pair of Polk towers.

Polk may be guilty of caving to economics and marketing - sell what sells, not what's best. You'll find that true with most business models.

Do any remember the SDS SRS series speakers fifteen or so years ago? They definitely give new meaning to inefficient speakers.

I have been here since '04.

I have never read that bluejeanscable makes your system sound better.

I have never seen Polks being run down by a group, or by the moderators.

I have always said I liked Polk, and that I thought they were a great value. Most members on threads I was involved in would agree. A few others would disagree. That is a given.

This is pointless!

Don't put so much into it, he's just poking fun and not even directly at you (I think/hope). The point is, don't worry about it too much, it's just the internet that Al Gore created ( :) ). I'm not a fan of Polk speakers, but I don't think they are crap either. I just don't plan on owning any more of them. I agree with fergusonv, all of their subs I've heard are crap. I owned a two pairs of LSi7s and I wasn't happy with them - build quality was excellent, midrange sound wasn't to my liking, so I don't recommend them.

Paradigm doesn't get any reviews here because they won't cough up any speakers either. Does that mean Paradigm is getting bashed here? Not any more than Polk.

There are two different kinds of people in this world. Those who can admit they're wrong, and those who change the subject.

If I hear one more new "Audioholics does this" redirect thrown in here by certain people who-shall-remain-nameless-even-though-you'd-have-to-be-from-Mars-to-not-know-who-I'm-talking-about I'm hitting the ban button...

I love free speech, Canuck. Feel free to exercise it somewhere I'm not paying for it.

WOW!!! I don't know what's worse...

The fact that there have been 77 (now 78) responses, or the fact that I have read them all.

I must say, it has fulfilled my comedy, action, and drama needs for today. Now I can sit back and watch some mindless reality TV.

EDIT: Clint beat me to it, my post is now #79. :)
