Thanks for the link; it reinforced some things that I found when experimenting with multiple speaker arrays...Right now my mind keeps switching preference between the r6 meta Kef and the svs ultra evolution... (I don't know if the diamond coating on the svs dome tweeters is enough of a difference to cause me "listener fatigue") I do know that the Polk ring tweeters seem to be a down check though, for me; apparently because I have odd hearing...

Since Memorial day is coming up I'll likely wait for potential sales then pull the trigger for an in home trial of at least the Ultra Evolution center (I'm also curious about the diamond coated tweeter).

I found the biggest noticeably re; horizontal/vertical (driver arrays)/sound lobes was when the observer moves (turning their head with horizontal lobes or rising/sitting/jumping up and down for vertical lobes... since vertical movement is relatively rare, for me, when listening, I decided to, mostly, ignore it.

My experiences with ribbon tweeters was mostly with the 1970's air motion transformers; where I noticed that dust and occasionally ribbon blow outs (at extreme volumes) were, occasional (rare) issues...(40 years ago)...

I do like the high frequency performance of ribbon tweeters though.... Hopefully the problems have been rectified or at least alleviated over the last 40 years... (I have been watching for ribbon driver sales over the last few months; for potential use in my next speaker experiment)...

Enjoy!
Might consider something like the Horizon from Ascend, too https://ascendacoustics.com/collections/sierra-series-centers

...Looks interesting (bookmarked)...(Thanx!)
We must be operating on a similar mental frequency; I was thinking along the lines of planer drivers (planer driver around 3:00 am this morning...
The Ascends use ribbon tweeters, which is different from planar

.... copied from the new stuff thread...

After a bit of consideration (and shopping) I ordered an SVS ultra evolution center channel speaker.
svs center channel.jpg

in black oak veneer; (not a fan of glossy plastic looking finishes).
Have been experimenting with the center channel speakers that I have and am not satisfied with either Polk or Klipsch.(separately or together/stacked; although stacking a Polk ES35 on a Klipsch R34C was an audible improvement to both/either).
I did listen to a sample of this center at a local sound emporium but was unable to locate a KEF center.
...Perhaps Santa will bring matching left and right SVS speakers for Christmas...

Enjoy!

Nobody that is smart would ever have any center speakers with the number 35 from polk. Or have any center speaker with undersized woofers.
I don't know what you're thinking on that.

Mistakes happen; especially when trying to squeeze midrange speakers under a video monitor... "All applications do not allow proper/optimal implementation..."

I expect the main speakers and subwoofer to take care of lower frequencies. I have always been a fan of relatively large midrange speakers; when they fit. (for their musicality) even though they have issues reproducing higher frequencies (This is the reason that we have 3+ way speakers)...

Enjoy!

Your not the first nor the last doing this, me included.
