Meh, it's hard to back someone that has, for years, been a part of a click that has talked trash about this place then all of a sudden wants to join and turn over a new leaf.

Sorry, I'm not buying it and continue to question his motives.
I watched a pack of dogs kill my cat. I swore that I was going to get in my truck and run them mutts over. Believe it or not, I drove around the corner and all three of them walked right out in front of my truck. I couldn't do it.

I got out with a pipe in hand to beat the living **** out of them, and all three were wagging their tails as if I was playing. I couldn't do it.

The fact is, they would not have done that to my cat if they were not all hyped-up, and running in a pack. And who knows, my cat may have done something to p!$$ them off.

Nothing worse than paying 6k for amps, and having "to my friend Peng" put on them. There went that 6k.
If his (Carver) signature is included, I would find that 6K one way or another.:D:D Pretty sure I can get 2K for my Bryston anyway.

Well, that's what the add states. He will sign and personalize the amps by request to the winning bidder.

The pun is, the personalization "to my friend ****." Wouldn't help the resale value.

Like on Pawn Stars when Rick asked Chum to find Bob Dylan, and get him to autograph a rare Bob Dylan album. Chum found him. Bob asked,"what would you like me to say?", Chum replied, make it out "to my friend Chumlee." LOL

search for "Stereo pair BLACK BEAUTY monoblock"
Carver is not in the title so will not work as a search term!

Edit: Or click "Back to item description" in the link below (next post).

No offense to anyone, but I wouldn't even buy them for $100.

And if someone gave them to me, I would put them on eBay immediately.

I guess I really hate the way tube amps look.:D

I'm not sure how I feel about tube amps. The townhouse my wife and I live in is too small for a dedicated audio room. If I had one it would be two channel, or 2.1. I would not mind owning tube amps. My audio mentor had tubed monoblocks with big 300b tubes in them, and it was a sharp set up. Looked and sounded great.
I would like to hear what TLS guy has to say on this topic. I know he has moved on from tubes, but with Bob Carver involved......
Hey! My question got in on the subjective/objective side of tube rolling! Woo hoo.
Nooshin John seemed ok.........but maybe I detected a more polished version of Lord of the Rings........

With you there 100%. But at 100 plus posts in with him and the threads where very civil.

I can't speak to motives with authority, but the threads stood on their own merit. It was most likely to prove that we would shout someone down like they do there. That obviously didn't happen. And getting one's nose out of joint over the chicklet system? That is a bit laughable as are the people that posted a bunch of negative rep.

Still the Ask Bob Carver was pretty cool and I am dismayed at some of the ulterior motives brought up. Bob Carver doesn't need to go around pan handling like some beggar to get a one off build of his sold. The thought about it violating the TOS around here is ABSURD.

Re sale would not in the equation but that punny personalization suggested is way too cheesy to be taken seriously.:D

So, would you have him sign them? With or without a comment?
