Canadians Causing Trouble Again.

Not a distribution issue. Ontario was the biggest importer of U.S. liquor. This goes back to when the tariffs were first placed on Canada and Ontario responded by clearing the shelves of all U.S. liquor knowing full well that certain sectors would be hit hard. We like your bourbon. ;) Alberta and Saskatchewan still carry American liquor but the other two big importers, Quebec and British Columbia, still prohibit sales. Will be nice when all of this crap is behind us.
Oops. I kinda forgot about that. It really is unfortunate, and totally agree. It will be nice to move on from this craziness and get closer to normal. I’m afraid whatever “normal” was, is gone…

When the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission put the remaining stock of US wine and whiskey back on the shelf - because why let it go to waste* - I picked up a bunch of California wines for the missus and a couple 1792 Small Batch, a Jim Beam Double Oak and a Buffalo Trace for myself. I don't drink a whole lot of bourbon, so I'm covered for the time being.

*The NSLC boycott of any more purchasing from the US is still on and the proceeds from the sale of remaining stock is going to food banks.
Looks like 1792 has a new rye version, said to be very very good, especially for new rye drinkers. Jim beam is consistent, but I normally have a few varieties of knob creek(Jim beams yummier cousin) instead. In my area buffalo trace is hit or miss, mostly miss. Got lucky recently and grabbed one for me, and one for my son for his birthday. So many good ones out there. Just wanted to comment on the ones you mentioned. Cheers

To be honest, I haven't tried any of the bourbons I listed yet. I bought them based on reviews in Jim Murray's "Whisky Bible". While I don't agree with all of his ratings, he has only rarely steered me wrong.

Buffalo Trace is nice but not always available. One of my favorite whiskeys right now is Writers Tears (Irish).

never had it, gotta look for it next time down to Total Wine. My go-to's are Red Breast and Bushmills 16 (difficult to find)

LOL I keep seeing this thread title and think, whut? And apologize to all Canadians for our idiot "republicans" who enable drumphy (even the chickenshit drumphy supporters who don't actually stand "up" (standing down could well be more appropriate).
I keep saying that someone needs to roll up a newspaper and smack him on the beak with it, but nobody seems to be willing.

If a lead pipe is inside, how are we to know?

Interesting since you're a republican that has got us here. OTOH be nice if you went up and smacked him like that.

I didn't get us anywhere. Nobody has seen me campaign for anyone and if I post something that seems to be in favor of him, it's to correct misinformation purely because it's wrong, not because I feel bad about it being posted. Does my calling him 'Trumplestiltskin' (even during his first term in office) make it seem that I have warm, fuzzies about him?

I have tried to make the distinction that someone can be conservative and not MAGA or Republican, they don't need to hang their hat on politicians or party and they don't have to agree with those across the board. I have also made comments that were critical of politicians & parties, that I don't consider myself a member of any party and that it's impossible at this point to find candidates that work for me- others have said and written the same.

If I wanted to be put away forever, that would be a good way to make never be hard from again.
