+1 for the PS3. I've had mine for about a year now with no issues. Bluetooth remote works great and the Logitech Mediaboard makes web browsing a breeze.

PS3 is mediocre of SD-DVD playback...

IF DVD is still a priority for you.. look at the Samsung 2550 with HQV chip. If you dont watch or buy DVD much anymore (like me) i would get the Pioneer 51

I actually do still watch a lot of regular dvds. My A-3 does a great job of up-converting them. Some say the PS3 does a great job with regular dvds. This may really be a problem for me as I was looking to get rid of my A-3. Thanks for the info.

From all that I've read about all the Samsung units(old or new) there problems are related to audio codecs and thats a biggy!

Yeah, that may be a big problem for sure. I have also had some reliability issues with Samsung products in the past. I doubt very seriously that I will opt for anything Samsung. Thanks Billy for the info.

I sold my 40G PS3 to my brother almost a year ago. It's over 1 yr old now and it still works perfectly.

Yeah, it's the nature of the beast when it comes to electronics. Sometimes you just have bad luck.
