So, Fuzz, which one of these would you most highly recommend?
*Had to remove links.
As some of the other guys have said, buying used can net you a little more for your money. However, there are always question marks that come with buying used. Making sure you can pay with a credit card, with something like paypal, or through ebay so you have some protection is a must unless you can bear to take the however many hundred or thousand dollar hit should it fail. As they say, the bigger the risk the bigger the reward, and cash can sometimes get you the most for the least but with no safety net.
As far as the one's I linked go, I've never heard any of them specifically, but the BIC was tested by data-bass, the CSX's big brother was tested by data-bass, and I've owned a big brother to the Hsu. Based on the numbers, I'd probably go with the Hsu STF-2. Unless I'm forgetting or misreading something (which is always possible) it put up the best CEA numbers out of the three. The short explanation is that, based on these numbers, it will have the most extension, be competitive in terms of max output, and have the least amount of distortion over its operating bandwidth. Plus it's on sale.
