It is common knowledge that going separates with a cheap pre-pro/avr + powerful dedicated amp is better than AVR-only route.
However, I was wondering at what point does the best AVR, i.e. denon 5803/Yamaha Z11 shift the balance of power back to AVR-only's advantage.
Is the fact that Z11 can do 11 channels shift that balance? Would you rather have a Z11 stand-alone or a 663 mated with a 5/7 channel 250/w amp?
To me, the Z11 took the audio crown but Denon's the better VP with that Realta.
But.. I'll take a z11 off anybody that doesn't want it anymore

It'll be a tax write off.. I promise to structure the transaction so it qualifies for a tax write off.
