your speakers never need to be upgraded if you bought something really good in the first place. Speakers are a better investment in the future, as well as making more of a difference in the sound now.

Hee hee.......

I.. disagree
You just didn't buy good enough ones in the first place if you need to upgrade your speakers. (That contrasts with receivers, as they did not make ones with the features I want now when I first bought one [e.g., HDMI, etc.].) I personally do not plan on ever upgrading the audio portion of my system (a bigger and better TV would be nice), though obviously I will replace things if they fail (and cannot be reasonably repaired).
I am currently using the U.S. version of the
Aurum Cantus Leisure 2SE speakers for all channels, and two
SVS CS-Ultra subwoofers. It is not the best that money can buy, but it is very good and it would be very expensive to get better. And I think it would not be that much better.
For my main two channel system, I use a pair of
Apogee Stage speakers, which, again, are not the best that money can buy, but they are very good and it would be very expensive to get better. And I think it would not be that much better.
I am not looking to upgrade my audio, and will only replace things if they fail.
Obviously, if you are the sort of person who is never satisfied, no matter how good one's system is, then you will never feel as I do. But that is a problem with you, not your gear.
