Benq vertical lines

I bought this BenQ ht2050 on eBay. Hooked it up and have these black vertical lines? Any idea what it is ?

All sources or just that source? What resolution are you sending to it vs. what it supports?

Didn’t have time to check when I get home. I’m going to troubleshoot it.

First impression is that it's defective.

Yep even w no source connected and I pull up menu I have the lines

Took it apart I’ll clean it all up. If it still doesn’t work it’s going back.

Ended up returning it. I’ll have to look for a projector. I have an Epson powerlite from work I’ve been using. It’s work until I buy another.

A shame. The HT2050 is a really nice projector. Super reliable as well, so it sucks that it has this issue for sure.

I know major bummer. Got sold a Lemmon. Got a refund from seller. Using epson powerlite until I can find something else

I’ve been trying to give the projector back to the seller, but he won’t send me his address. I have received a refund. I still have the projector. I wonder if cleaning the DMD processor w some contact spray will help.

Taking it apart and cleaning the contacts did absolutely nothing.
Ended up buying another one. Also seems like this forum is pretty dead.

It is VERY slow in here. Most of the forum talks about audio, so it is other places that have a more lively conversation about projectors for sure. But, it's nice to be able to get some answers or feedback which may be a bit less lost in the weeds as you may find on those other forums. Repairs are a tough one though. FixItFrank hasn't been visiting any groups lately that I've seen and he would be the one who really knows the answers and can truly give some technical know-how. A shame he hasn't been around anywhere lately. I'm sure he has family and personal matters which must come first.

No worries. I cleaned it all up still no luck. It’s trash and DOA. End up getting another one that was mint condition for less money.
