I like the Rays tonight even if Cliff Lee is starting for the Rangers.... I sure hope the Rays prevail against the Yanks in the ALCS because they'd be a better match up...imo. In the NLCS I'll take the Phillies in 5...fwiw.

I haven't watched any postseason baseball yet, but I think I finally will this evening. Great matchup for an elimination game. Ok, let's see if the sports trivia nerds will come out of the woodwork here: When was the last time two southpaws of this caliber went at it in a postseason game? (Probably not an extremely rare event, but hmmm.)

I figured it would definitly have to involve a Yankees pitcher...at first I thought it might be Andy Pettitte but a quick search revealed it was Cliff Lee vs. CC Sabathia in last years WS....duh.

I'm not surprised. The Rangers clearly had the best team in the AL we have always had the best offense in baseball and we now have great starting pitching thanks to Nolan Ryan. The series favors the Rangers, but you never know in baseball. I can't believe the Rangers made it. And my bears won today meaning they are going bowling for the first time this century.

I know it sucks to have the Phillies lose to the Giants, but if they had lost to the Rangers you might have never lived that down. I am excited to have championship diversity in baseball. Getting the roids out has really improved the game. It's so much more like the early 90s that I grew up with now. I feel like we were robbed of 12 years of great baseball for that roids crap. Chumps like Clemens, McGwire, and Canseco would have taken a back seat to the truly great players.

What kills me is the Phillies couldn't muster up any offense to speak of and still took the NL to game six of the league championship series...

Tomorrow starts the best day in sports history for me. One of my favorite teams in my favorite sport plays in the World Series. I love basketball, football, hockey and just about anything with a score in it, but baseball is my first love and the biggest deal in my home town. Our best athletes always played baseball. One of them even hit a game winning homer in a playoff series a few years back.

For me the Giants bring back old school memories of the Astros-Giants playoff series from a kid. We grew up in Austin and since both teams normally were bad we learned to cheer for both teams. The Astros making it was great, but it was cheap and feel wrong since Clemens did his whole I'm innocent, but my wife did it nonsense. I never did like Clemens and after the truth came out I just don't consider the run they made authentic anymore. To me this is the first authentic world series run of my life. The Rangers have always had the best hitters in baseball and now they have the best pitcher and our owned by Nolan Ryan a man who put the Express in my hometown and is forever beloved by all Texans. I honestly don't care about the Cowboys right now because all I know is the Rangers are doing something worthy of a cheesy made for tv espn movie. They are winning.

I can't believe how awesome it is to have such a great world series coming up especially as baseball has really cleaned up and the game now belongs to the smart pitchers again. I've always love baseball and the world series.
