Like I have said many times; there is no need to look at anything other than Paradigm, B&W and DynaAudio when auditioning speakers:D

I must know what I am talking about as I have 5 chicklets...he, he...
I'm sure the S8s sound amazing. They better be for around $6,000/pr?:D

So did you get any discounts?

I just have to give Paradigms and Yahama owners a hard time in general.:D

I agree Def but even you would prefer the sound of the S8 to the DTs!!!!!!!!!!
R----------I-----------G----------H------------T.:D

Why don't you just go and give that crazy lady in the ICU another bottle of Diprivan, okay?:D

That's 100% ture! My final three were Paradigm, Dyanudio, and B&W. I liked the Revels but only the Ultima series.

Who said anything about the S8s going for 6000? After the new price increase 7200 retail! Unless I just got had!

What's all this talk about propofol and the ICU? I hope you guys are monitoring your lipid panels if your administering it with your TPN and lipids.

Nah, I think the lady had a 2-in-1 solution, no lipids.

The plot thickens...:D

lol...that's was what my final 3 were. There are many good speakers out there but considering I can get all these from my dealer and they all sound good, it becomes a no-brainer. I am "cheap" so I just went with the Studios but the Sigs are some of the best speakers I have listened to.

BTW, just FYI,

Paradigms S8:
HTMag
Build Quailty: 96
Value: 93
Features: 93
Performance: 97
Ergonomics: 90

Average Score: 93.8% -- that's A-!:D

Def Tech BP7000:
Build Quailty: 96
Value: 97
Features: 95
Performance: 97
Ergonomics: 94

Average Score: 95.8% -- that's A+!:D

So clearly, without question, the Def Tech 7000 is simply better. There's no point in arguing. Don't even try. Can't hear you.:D

I dont listen to a lot of "spec music", dont care about value or Ergonomics and dont see how features even come into play...

I second that! I really didn't think the DefTechs compared to the Paradigms on any level. I had the same prob w/ them that I did w/ my LSIs. There was a blurring of the mid-range and bass no matter what the configuration was.

How many ICU providers are we dealing with here? I left Intensive Care for good'ol primary care. It's so much more fun having pts argue with me about their need for ABX to tx their viral infections than trying to elict a pain response from a Neuro pt.

I have to admit that I have never listened to DTs. My dealer has them but he never mentioned listening to them and neither did I. I just dont like how they look but I should give them a listen at some point.
Sore loser....................:D
Nany, nany, boo, boo.:p

Hey, you guys are tag-teaming on me!

Not fair.

I'm going to have to find some way to audition those S8s one of these days.

I think my BP7000SCs have the clearest high frequency, midrange, and bass I've ever heard.:D

But don't take my word for it. Scratch that. Just take my word for it.:D

BTW, HT Mag and A-V-R Mag thought the BP7000SCs sounded like speakers costing over $20,000!

Bottom line, some people prefer Paradigms, some prefer B&Ws, some prefer Def Techs, some prefer other brands, and they all prefer the respective speakers for the same reasons: clear midrange, clear high frequency, and clear bass. Nobody buys speakers they think sound boomy, muddy, and unclear or not smooth sounding. Different strokes for different folks.:D

Hometheater mag drove me insane! The gave the B&W, Paradigms, and Definitive identical scores of 97 and the Revels 98. Very helpful in making an informed decision. I guess they just reinfocre the need for the listener to decide.

Nor have I. So I can offer no AB comparison. Features? Ergonomics? Don't care (and yes, what kind of features are speakers (not subs) supposed to have?). But I understandably have no desire to (listen to dt). When shopping I did listen to some B&W's...sweeet. I opted for the Studio 100's and servo sub and have never looked back. I am not wanting. :)

Not at all AcuDefTechGuy. We all know that you are the DT fanboi, and Greg is the 'digm fanboi. ;) Not derogatory or demeaning in any way...I'm sure you both have your reasons. I too have mine: My Studio 100's and servo rock...big time! :)
