You better hurry up. I'm starting to sell my wife on the idea of a living room system with the Focal 1028s, the MA7000, the old Adcom GCD-750, a Sonos, and an SB-13. :D

Thanks guys, I'm really enjoying this…… Happy New year to ALL of us addicts.;)
Go ahead and sell her on the idea! If Uncle Moneybags kicks off, then you'd just have to audition possible replacements. What a shame, huh, I know how you'd hate to have to do that!! :D

Happy New Year to you, too!! I know it must be with Audio Nirvana at your fingertips... :)

Nonamehifi.com have cable lifters for $109 for a set of six, you can open a plug in the bottom and fill 'em with sand :D

It's for you mate :p
Any recommendations on which sand would sound the best?? :D

Ok I lied, this is my last purchase. I finished out the room with 2 SVS SB13-Ultras. :D

???? Nope. The pair of subs is for the 2 channel music room only. :D See what you did?!?!?!?!?!?

They're going to be crossed with the MEN220. Have to play with the settings and cross overs and what not. I really don't understand the Butterworth or Linkwitz options. I really like the room perfect and what it has done to the sound. I can't wait to get the subs delivered and integrated. I looked at Funk and JL and others, but in the end, in my less than 2,300sq ft room, I can't fathom a mega $,$$$ difference between all the subs I looked at. I'm familiar with SVS (PB13-ultra) and like their product. Can't go wrong with a 45 day return policy. :D

And so we are clear, I blame you, Acudeftechguy, for this last purchase. I totally agree, with as good as the 802s are in the bass region, I can't imagine a loudspeaker being able to pull what a dedicated sub can, or 2 for that matter. :p

BTW, Acudeftechguy, I also blame you for the DEQ, blah blah blah, MEN220 purchase. :D You were right.

Oh, good. 802D2 + dual SB13Ultra subs will be great. Even if the 802D2 could handle all that bass, who says we HAVE to MAKE them? Let the dual subs do all the "dirty" work. :D

For a very long time, I didn't want to believe in EQ either. I was all for pure analog class-A 2CH music and all that, no EQ whatsoever. But my jaw dropped when I finally gave in to the dark side - Audyssey Dynamic EQ (DEQ) for 2Ch music. That was a revelation. An enlightenment.

So I have a whole new level of respect for EQ (especially Subwoofer EQ). :D

Well....hopefully this will be his life DREAM system and the LAST audio purchase (under $1K :D) if everything is 100% reliable.

He can now start saving up. :D

Why.......I haven't bought anything in like 6 months!

See........I am now saving up like a good boy. :D

You have stopped spending on yourself, and now stir the pot getting others to spend!! :D I guess it's all good, since flyboy blames you, but doesn't appear particularly distressed at the moeny you have 'made' him spend...

His wife may not be so charitable, though...

She's awesome. I told her I was going to move the PB13 ultra upstairs until the summer and then I would buy the subs for the room. She saw me trying to lug that 155 pound monster and said, "honey wait, no sense in you getting hurt for a few months, just order the subs and leave this one downstairs". :D

That's good.

Yeah, my wife says she would rather see me spending money on speakers and amps for myself and our house than on alcohol and other women. :D

But I'm very well done on HT. :D

I may buy a new display/PJ in 5 years if my TWO BenQ projectors break (no sign of malfunction yet). :D But probably nothing audio.

I see your updated signature showing 2 x 13Ultra for Music and 1 x 13Ultra for HT. That's good. Most people may ask, "Shouldn't you use 2 subs for HT and 1 sub for music?" But I think the 802D2 deserve 2 subs because the 802D2 are simply more special than the Monitor Audio speakers. :D

What? You would rather have the boxy VA than the curvy 802D2?

Say it isn't so! :D

The VA probably sound just as good regardless of measurements.

But for argument sake, the VA probably measure like +/-6dB, whereas the 802D2 measure +/-2.8dB. And the 802D2 look much sexier and much more difficult to build IMO. The VA look very boxy and probably a lot simpler to build. Just thinking out loud. :D

This audio-buying disease is contagious, isn't it? You spend enough time here and you run the risk of being infected until you reach the precipice! :D

I actually tried to save you some money by recommending ATI amps. But it's your dream system. So it's good you got exactly what you wanted. :)

The VA's are not so boxy, thne Dunlavy SC-VI are boxy speakers
And to be honest I would much rather have a set of second hand SC-V or SC-VI's than the B&W ....

There is all this talk about VA and measurements, I auditioned the VA Mahler over and over and over again, and I was exceedingly happy with them, not a clue of any unlinearity that I could comprehend, probably some of the very best speakers I ever heard, much better working than the 802d's as far as it worked in my auditioning.... I'm not saying this as a fact, it's just what I experienced....

To me the 802d's are not really well performing speakers at all......

Here's the Mahler's
