I don't know if the author's identity has been verified. No surprise that he is writing anonymously since he doesn't want to face retribution. This article has gained a lot of traction over the internet in the past few days, so maybe there is more information about the author or at least some verification.
From what I researched people don't want his identity just for journalists to verify it independently they don't have to give his name just have vetted and can account for his authenticity it hasn't been done yet still a good article

Like I said I don't agree with every thing he says actually a lot of things but I do agree with one thing he said on this

Placating people when they get like this will not help or save you. I bend my knee and submit to only one king and that is my God I will never kneel before any man unless he has earned that trust. Stay calm don't panic and speak your truth I do agree with this ONE POINT he made

For George Floyd Id kneel for his justice and police reform Id kneel but never will I bend the knee to what this movement has started to become NEVER

And I'm done apologizing for something I had nothing to do with 400 f@$!ing years ago and that I've always stood up against at work at school my whole life. I'm done apologizing for my Damn heritage I didn't ask to be born who I am just the same as other human beings

And finally I'm so sick off that argument being shoved into my face it's the all time fall back if you say something people don't like to hear. I have to wear this skin every day I don't get to take it off well mothers@$!ers neither do I. And it hasn't been a walk in the park in my life either privilege status or not which I do agree with them exists with a lot of sh@$ they are right about that but what the f@$! Am I supposed to do about that? Except keep pushing for change and respecting others like I have my whole life?

F@$! It feels good to get that off my chest right or wrong just to say it man to own it. I'm not bending my knee to this movement I was behind it at first but I don't support it not what it's become

@Gmoney you are so right I'm out of all this thank God I live in Texas I'm stocking up and getting ready for the zombie apocalypse. You want to join me let me know well make Zombieland look like a Disney's kid show brother

You're letting the "news" influence you the way it wants to and that's honestly a big part of our issue in this country. To be clear, I'm not just talking about Fox News. I'm talking about all of them. They in no way want to inform us so much as push an agenda down our throats. Don't let this stuff overwhelm you. As a good person, you are the type that can make change for the better. Either way, I'm still buying you a beer when all the virus fun dies down.

Vent as much as you want. We're all here to listen. You need to talk, I'm here. We all need friends during times like this.

Watch this. I liked it. Only his second episode, but it is interesting. I think you'll like it as it's close to home for us seeing as they are both in Austin.

Seriously, I have no life.
I was trying to write something before going into a meeting so I was spitting a lot out. Apple is a good example to a degree because of making a better product that people want.
But they tell people what they want and get them to believe it before offering the new products and then, make it difficult to leave their platform once it has been adopted to the current degree by requiring new products in order to stay current with system upgrades.

WRT their network hardware- it was OK for people with a simple computer/printer/cell phone and maybe a few other things in a small place, but they didn't say anything when many tried to use it for a larger, more complex network. Once they had announced that no further development would occur, they finally started to admit that they didn't recommend or support more than two Apple Airport devices on one network. I, and many others, wasted a lot of time over more than ten years in trying to get their Airport crap to work properly and the whole time, they new it could be problematic.

They Only ones Laughing all the way to the bank are the ones getting rich are the Wealthy, off the backs for The Laborers.
If you don't like being an employee, come up with an idea, start a company, grow that company and find people who want to invest in you, your idea and your company. If the idea already exists, find a better way to do it- every hear the saying "Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door"? Innovation is a big part of Capitalism, but then, use OPM (Other Peoples' Money) is part of it, too- great for large/huge projects, but it also removes most of the risk from the people accumulating the startup funds. Risk is a great motivator.

Hating people for what they have and trying to do something about it is class warfare. Nobody ever said life is fair and that everyone should have an equal amount of success but opportunity is the key. Many poor people with no apparent opportunities have become very successful.

I was just using apple as an example of someone making a great product or idea and it taking off. after that you're right, and I've been a loyal user for years and I'm finally starting to think what else is out there?

But because of apples drive back in the day we have some amazing tech today. and again this is capitalism. which is good.

There are millions of great examples of good capitalism. I have a neighbor who had a great idea to improve something. He has a few employees, all are decent pay because they have skills he needs. He's reaping the greatest reward because its his business, his money on the line.

"If I don't like being a Employee" I have owned two Businesses in my lifetime. Why go and make this thread personal. You know me Personally? Have You met me in person? No you haven't When I had both small Companies and working more hours in 7 days a week than I care to remember didn't get me or my Company more income at least not for time to money put in. Dealing with the Politics and Corruption with the Elected officials who aways had hands out for cash under the table in white Unmarked envelopes. Don't kid yourself someone, some other Organization will come for a Cut of your income. Before I could put a Dime in my Pocket just to keep the doors open was over 3g a month Sometimes more. So yeah try again Chris, unitll You have walked in my shoes keep threads like this In general. Telling me whatI should or shouldn't do, or my Thoughts about what's going on in this country doesn't hold up to your standards. Is why most threads like these Crash and burn and become a dumpster fire. This is my last post on this thread.

Yes, this is why you deserve all the rewards of the business profit and your employees don't.

I was writing in terms of answering someone who says they don't like being an employee- it wasn't a personal attack.

I agree about elected officials- used to be that they did it as public service and now, it's all "What's in it, for me?".

I have a friend who studied Econ and doesn't like Capitalism. I keep asking what he would prefer and there aren't many choices. He makes snide comments about me being a business owner and Capitalist, as if all of us are bad people, but he became a teacher and councilor which are fine positions, but he also adopted the attitude about business being bad. I constantly remind him that businesses don't have to be bad, just that many businesses are run in a way that ONLY cares about the last millionth of a penny, rather than any employee or social responsibility.

The only answers I get are more government intervention from those friends.

Yeah, that'll work.

I can't disagree with a lot of their points, though. My dad would refer to money-grubbing A-holes as dealing in 'filthy lucre'. Politicians are fully involved in that. Opportunistic bastiges! The thought of them having control over business practices makes my eye twitch.

Many choices? What are his one or two choices, state owned? More regulated private owned? :)

Let alone the relatively short training period they go thru (think it's in the neighborhood of 20-24 weeks typically).
It's honestly not fair to them at all. Those poor people aren't prepared in any way to do the job asked of them. It should be at least a two year program.

That's only the basic training, but it varies by department. They have requirements for additional education- Milwaukee requires high school diploma or GED and 60 semester hours of college credit or an associate's degree in relevant studies- if they don't have the college credits. they must receive 60 credit hours within 5 years of hire to remain on the force. Once accepted, they have a 27 week training course Upon graduation, they must complete a 16 month probationary period working with veteran officers, as well. Continuing education is required for advancement.

The Chicago program is 900 hours.
