These apparently sold for almost $5k... I'm posting them up because you just don't see these Summits in such good shape very often, and again they actually look quite attractive with the grilles on and those sparkly tops!

Still my dream vintage speaker. The Summits are what got me started in this crazy quest for 'hi-fi'. They sounded spectacular back then and I bet they still compare well to modern speakers. Prices have gone off the charts so I guess I'm not alone.
Iam still holding our for a pair of Synthesis Reference Everest 67000 speakers there’s a pair on eBay for only 30 Grand lol !

Hey, at least my dream is reachable. I've seen Summits go for $3k which is less than what I have invested in my system. That 30 grand ain't ever gonna' happen unless I win the Powerball. :D

This guy appears to be dropping some of his ridiculous asking prices and this seems like it could be a deal. A full 2.1 NHT Super Zero stereo setup with subwoofer and amp for $300.

That is the SuperZero's from 1995 ... way better than Bose

Depends which version of Monitor you look at. I think those are v5 so 12 yrs old or more. Mine look like below. The cone on the S-PAL woofer is more of a light grey / silver colour and it has the G-PAL tweeter (ferro-fluid damping with IMS/Shock-mount). I listened to the Atoms, Titans and Monitors while shopping in 2010 and the Monitors left me unimpressed, but that was a different version. The Monitors rated well in their price range but are, after all, a budget tower.
I remembered wrong. Your speakers are nicer than the Monitors I was thinking of.

These are the version 6 Monitor towers, they re-worked the crossovers ... a differerent design from the older past Paradigms ... Paradigm did a pretty good job with the V6 series ... that would have been a serious good deal for Poqre ($75) ... and yes what you have is a higher-end set of Paradigm speakers.

I wasn't sure if they were v5 or v6 since the outward appearance is the same. The Monitors I heard didn't have the condom woofer so likely a v4. I'm sure the v6 would have been a significant improvement. They retailed between $650-$750 so at $75 they were a good deal.

That is very cool of you. In fact I'll add that if anyone sees something I post and they want it I'm totally willing to do the same. I tried to for @NINaudio with those nice JBLs for $50 but the guy wouldn't reply to me!
I'm still mad at that dude!

Buy buy buy. ✌
Ahhhh, I can't. Nowhere to put them. I haven't even gotten a chance to really put some juice to the Definitive BP30's I scored before vacation. I might have the house to myself for a little while tomorrow night. I've been itching to hear how the DefTechs measure up against the Paradigm BP's.

I'm trying to follow a new rule of only buying speakers that do something "different." As far as a conventional box speaker goes, I'd have to shell out a fortune to best the T&A's, so now I just experiment with other implementations.

The Cambridge towers, Paradigms, and DefTechs are all bipolar speakers, the effect of which I am loving for 2-channel living room HT. Stepdaughter is going to get the Cambridge's as a gift when she moves out next year.

The Von Schweikert VR-4's had a rear tweeter, but it was more the minimal baffle design that gave them an insane soundstage.

The VR-33's and Allison CD-9's were designed to be placed against the wall and have ultra-wide soundstage (the Allison's did it better).

My next venture will likely be to try some open baffle speakers. Tell you what, there seems to be a lot of pent up demand for Spatial Audio, because any of them that pop up on the used market get sold within days unless they're overpriced.
