Any motorcycle racing fans out there?

unfortunately it's not likely to happen. MotoGP has looked at Road America several times over the years and RA has been unable to make the necessary changes required for rider safety. IIRC the kink at the back of the track is the biggest problem. I heard that had something to do with them adding the chicane to a few years back, an attempt to slow racers down through there. It wasn't enough, still no real runoff, just a few feet of dirt, a fence, then a drop.

I have heard that as well. The track would be neutered to meet current FIA regulations. Yet, somehow, Monaco is still an FIA sanctioned event (for F1 of course).

IIRC F1 also goes to Road America (or used to). Generally cars crash differently than motorcycles do and don't require the same kinds or amounts of runoff for safety that the bikes do.

One of my biggest gripes with coverage in the US is they rarely use on-bike footage, and when they do, it's not much and limited. One of the reasons MGP is usually great to watch is the several different perspectives they offer. Onbike looking forward, at rider, backwards, from the sides, hand controls, feet, on screen displays of speed, acceleration, braking, and more. Plus, the announcers generally get excited and keep the action up and often refer to non-front runners with respect and by name.

In the US, the announcers drone on and most the camera angles are from a distance and only show the top few riders. Plus non-factory riders are generally referred to as back-markers or worse and with a derogatory tone. They could learn a lot from how Nascar promotes all the riders and sponsorship.

F1 has never been at Road America unless someone brought a car there personally. All of the US GP's have been held in Detroit, Houston, Phoenix, Watkins Glen, L.A. and Indy.

Champ Car used to do Road America as did IRL but it is not an FIA certified track. I heard rumors Miller Motorsports park is seeking FIA approval.

The regular MotoGP coverage is pretty good. The onboard shots are nice. The announcers definitely get amped up as well.

Oops, I've never actually followed auto racing with any regularity. I was thinking of whatever series was covered in Super Speedway.

I hadn't heard anything about Miller Motorsports, either way, Utah is kind of far away from me.

I watch MotoGP when I get the chance but mostly I try and play one in real life.:D Took the bike out for a spin this even after taking it off the trickle charger, checking tire pressure and lubing the chain. Forgot how stupidly fast these things are.
