These are the things that I'd like to see:

4) Being able to send remote commnands from an HTPC

5) HTPC Cases - there may be 4 that I would actually own. They're typically pathetic looking computer cases that they've add a knob or two to.
What's up with your HTPC?

Did you get everything up and running?:D

My latest thing is now ripping blu-rays into hard drives and playing back via HTPC.:D

That is such blasphemy, especially after you spend as much as you did on your sweet Denon blu ray player.

I didn't even think about that!

Now I will feel sad and cry for the next 15 minutes.:D

boo hoo hoo......................................................................................

Okay. I'm okay now.

Well, I'll still reserve my favorite BDs for my precious Denon 3800BD.

And another thing ---- I have a $5,500 DTS-MA/TrueHD Denon receiver, and I can only watch DD/DTS w/ the HTPC!

Okay, now I will feel sad and cry for another 15 minutes.:D

I am confused: is your laptop we were discussing in the other thread the HTPC you are referring to? If not, why don't you just get that ASUS card, have your precious DD TrueHD and DTS-MA, and stop crying?? ;)

Not a piece of audio gear, but certainly important to my HT in general. I'm waiting for the bugs with the DTV Pal DVR to be worked out, and then I'm going to jump on that like white on rice. :D
But, what if it ends up being brown rice rather than white...........Lmao!!!! :p:p

Cheers,

Phil

These are the things that I'd like to see:

1) 60+ inch LCD's for less than the cost of a good used car

2) Uncomprised home theater computing. (I don't want to buy 20 different programs and add-ons to make stuff work.)

3) Better remotes. There's a couple out there, but they're either too expensive or just plain ugly. An RF version of the Harmony One would be a good start.

4) Being able to send remote commnands from an HTPC

5) Better looking equipment. Speakers - something other than a rectangle would be nice. (B&W 800's have it right - now lets make some that don't cost more than a new car) Components - they either try to look really modern and produce ugly stuff because they don't quite get it, or they keep it so traditonal, you can't tell if it's new or 20 years old. How come they can't make slick high end looking boxes. HTPC Cases - there may be 4 that I would actually own. They're typically pathetic looking computer cases that they've add a knob or two to.
All interesting and lofty goals. Knowing you, many will be achieved. Thanks for posting Chris. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

Geez, I hate to say this, but I'm happy with my speakers, amplification, display, and sources. The thing I'm waiting for is a server that's better than iTunes that doesn't cost more than a new car. Plus, a new wife that doesn't constantly say "Turn that damn thing down!". Incidentally, the last time I watched "Master & Commander", my wife's dog vomited during the "crossing the cape" scene. Sheesh, whata buncha whimps.
