Have you read the startup guide in the denon manual and followed the setup guide? After that a much better first try is to check if you have sound when playing a game or movie through the ps4. Is HDMI(ARC) set to on in both the tv and the denon? Edit:which denon reciever did you end up with? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

On denon you can only choose from scrolling the button and selecting one of the source as i mention i select tv audio. There is no arc thing on denon, no where. There was no manual or guide with denon. I took 520bt denon

L Leemix Audioholic General Jul 27, 2018 #74 Looks like the 520 doesnt have arc, i thought all newer did, but that means you will need to use an optical cable from tv to the denon for things where the tv is the source (like youtube). For bluray/ps4 connect the hdmi to the reciever to get the best sound. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Its a budget model so atmos isnt really an option, but atmos require a lot more speakers and not all that many do atmos setups even with fully atmos capable gear. Youtube doesnt do atmos as far as i know anyway and you wont use optical connection for bluray and other sources that might have «better» quality. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

This receiver not only amplifies your high-end audio signals but it’s also fully compatible with 4K video technology and Dolby Atmos to give you immersive surround sound when watching movies. If you’re a dedicated audiophile that wants to create a traditional stereo system in a custom listening room, you may want to go with separates. Having a separate amp helps you get the most out of your expensive loudspeakers since you can get more power behind your signal. You can also pick and choose the technology that best fits your musical preferences. Click to expand... Thats a bit off the mark, he’s already bought a budget denon which has all he needs for the immediate future. Separates/atmos etc as far as i understand it would be a long way off if ever.
