Ep. 5 was good. One thing that annoyed me was the female scientist who was in the lab eating food while working with blood sucking Aliens. She took ZERO precautions working with an unknown species. I mean there were some other things that annoyed me, but overall, this was a good episode. Was more like a real Alien show/movie.

A good question that was brought up over on AVS forums was, how did boy genius get hooked up with the guy on the ship. We know this mission was 65 years long and at this point they were in the 65th year. So, this mission started way before boy genius was born. How did he even find out that there was a ship out there exploring other planets? I would imagine Yutani monitors all communications going in and out of that ship. They would be the only ones who know where it is at all times. So, how did boy genius find out about it, and how did he get communications through without Yutani noticing or anybody else on the ship? It's sci-fi, we shouldn't' think that hard about it, but just thought it was a good question. :)
When they went to do the surgery, no masks, no face shield/glasses. Sorry, even without alien species, that's protocol they would not skip.

I am guessing boy genius is ether hyper sleeping, or he's a hybrid or clone. The implication being, Peter Pan never ages.

Good old-fashioned corporate espionage?

It's radio/wireless communication. Not some physically secured transmission wire.
"They can't stop the signal Mal. They can never stop the signal."

He was also communicating with the chief engineer. If certain protocols needed to be worked around or bypassed to allow third party transmission communications, I'd think he'd on the short list of ones who might be able to do that discretely.

Hahaha, I was going to mention that surgery scenes as well. Haha. Just goes straight into cutting him open while smoking a cig. :D

I was thinking that as well. Boy Genius has to be some hybrid or clone.

Another thing I was thinking about during that surgery scene was "where is that surgical pod that was in Promethius?" Since Prometheus took place before this, you'd think those surgical pods would be used on every ship nowadays. Haha, the Tech used in these "prequel" movies/shows seems more advanced than the actual movies taking place 50-100+ years later.

Characters (even so-called smart people w/ 6 college degrees) do stupid.crap in every episode.

I saw episode 6 last night. Just dumb decisions by everyone - humans and robots. :D

Lethal alien can kill anyone with their acids. Oh, I can’t feed them this minute because the feed-door is broken, so I’ll just UNLOCK the main door and risk my life walking into the room to feed the alien.

Just stupid crap.

Nobody had to go into that enclosure. Even if you had to open the door, why wouldn't that synth just slide the trey in and close the door immediately? And of course, they had to put the super smart scientist in there to do almost the exact same thing. Why would he risk his life for a synth? when they can just pull him out later or download his brain/memories into a new body?

Exactly. Didn’t even have to go INSIDE the room. But he’s that stupid.

And the doctor with 6 college degrees is also that stupid risking his life for a damn robot. And they even fired his damn a$$. So why even care?

Oh, and why would they give these dumb robot kids the door codes to all of the SECURE LOCKED alien rooms so they could unlock those doors ANYTIME they feel like it?

Based on what you’ve seen of these robot kids, would you trust these kids with your life? :D

BTW, my wife quit watching this series so I am watching it by myself just to see the big bad aliens, not these dumb characters.

Haha, yeah probably not a good idea to hand out all the codes to these robot kids. I wouldn't trust them. But we did see Kirsh lie to Boy Kavalier. So, we know something is going on there. Or is Boy Kavalier that intelligent that he knows Kirsh is up to something and is just allowing it to happen?

Other comments I've seen was regarding the basic security for these aliens in the lab. Since we now know that two of the Alien species have acid and could easily melt through those glass or plastic containment walls. I would like to think they could get some serious containment gear shipped out there relatively quick if they needed it.

Maybe we're just too picky, but man there seems to be an awful lot of holes in this series. :D

If it we're not for Kirsh, that bad alien would have been all over Boy Kavlier's face in the beginning.
