ABC New to push National Healthcare

Don't you live in Oregon? That state with no tax? What do you have to complain about if you see some taxation? Taxation puts hair on your chest and back.

And here we thought they were sasquatch sightings. They were just Canadian tourists. :D

Jokes on him....I'm broke! My hunger for bacon has really put a damper on my bank account.

Sheep....do you accept bacon as payment?
There is too much bacon in circulation already. It's the German mark all over again.

The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems:

1 France
2 Italy
3 San Marino
4 Andorra
[snip]
37 United States of America

There is your source. It was done in 2000 though, however it is the most currect list compiled.

Alright then. We'll assume that Andorra has a better health care system than the U.S. ;)

Can you tell me what assumptions WHO used in developing this list? What were their five criteria that were used to establish this ranking? Hmmm? I read the report, Shock. I don't think you want to argue this case. But have at it, if you like. :)

It's like watching an infant tell a boxer that he's about to get his *** handed to him.

You don't have to assume, it's right there in the report. Whether you believe it to be true has no affect on the outcome. These aren't my facts, I haven't pulled them from thin air. I've given you the most accurate sources I can find that can back up what I've said. All things considered, probably the most accurate anyone can find from reputable sources.

WHO’s assessment system was based on five indicators: overall level of population health; health inequalities (or disparities) within the population; overall level of health system responsiveness (a combination of patient satisfaction and how well the system acts); distribution of responsiveness within the population (how well people of varying economic status find that they are served by the health system); and the distribution of the health system’s financial burden within the population (who pays the costs).

The five indicators from the report as you asked for.

P.S. The people of Andorra are currently listed as having the highest human life expectancy in the world, at an average of 85 years at birth

These, with the possible exception (but probably not) of "patient satisfaction" are entirely COST/AFFORDABILITY based. What have I been saying throughout my posts here? That it is the COSTS that need to be contained...not that any new system needs to be put in place, especially one that will end up being more bureaucratic, less efficient, and more costly. What the WHO report basically tells you is that the U.S. has a very unaffordable healthcare system. What will help stop that? Not the government running it. But tort reform will.

PS: The people of Andorra don't eat Canadian bacon, either. ;)

Shock, this is from the same WHO report....
"The World Health Report says the main failings of many health systems are:

Many health ministries focus on the public sector and often disregard the frequently much larger private sector health care.
In many countries, some if not most physicians work simultaneously for the public sector and in private practice. This means the public sector ends up subsidizing unofficial private practice.
Many governments fail to prevent a "black market" in health, where widespread corruption, bribery, "moonlighting" and other illegal practices flourish. The black markets, which themselves are caused by malfunctioning health systems, and low income of health workers, further undermine those systems.
Many health ministries fail to enforce regulations that they themselves have created or are supposed to implement in the public interest."

This is exactly why the governmental run healthcare system being proposed in this country will exascerbate the problems we already have...as exemplified in the already mentioned Medicare, Medicaid, and VA care.
