I just Googled they are really called “Raspberry crazy ants“ there mostly in the Gulf states. The Article went on to say to put a Peppermint candy in or near any elect, that the crazy ants don’t like Peppermint it acts like a repellent.

I'm nowhere near the gulf....and these aren't particularly small ants. However, I'm pretty sure they're more familiar with the electrical routing in the walls, does seem to be where they come in/out of various rooms. I just make a nice borax cocktail for 'em when I find 'em.

Heard of them, have no idea if they're an issue here (more than termites?).

I wouldn’t say they do more than termites but I have seen them rot out wood like in between brick and walls. They get in from the holes that are spaced out on the bottom of a brick house you know so water can drain out if your house gets flooded. They make a really big nest in there. But yeah termites do more damage I would say. Hope your doing well HD with this Virus thing going on we have 11 Deaths so far down here in New Iberia LA. Stay well bro!

I'm pretty sure about half the animal kingdom is attracted to sugary smells. I recommend something other than candy.

I would agree but it’s the Peppermint that them crazy ants don’t like at least that’s what the article said.

I've used peppermint essential oil, didn't seem to bother them greatly (I'd read something similar). Works better on cats :)

You know you gotta point there, one of my brothers had like 5 Big Tom cat’s he loved cat’s. Well as you would guess his cat’s also loved sitting on my car. He told me that mixture of water and peppermint oil spayed around my car the cat’s wouldn’t come near it worked great. Also putting a rubber snake on the hood works good to.

Ants and Wasps are closely related. I cannot vouch for peppermint and Ants, but "safe" wasp spray uses mint oil as the active ingredient.

For ants, cinnamon is a very effective deterrent. We used this a lot at a bakery I used to cook at.

He keeps going away but somehow... It's like a moth and the blue light... Or like a dimwitt and 5G...

This gave him away:
Just curious, who sponsored those studies? Hmmm. Thanks for your info.
And this was an early nail in the coffin:
You have your own theorys, other people have theirs.
No one asks who is sponsoring studies on harmlessness of 5G out of pure curiosity and without thinking they are payed, thus false. And they ALL resort to; "to each his own theory!"
