D'm John,

That looks purdy! That's a very good representation of what I'll be building.

Thanks:D

Wifey still has the camera but the camcorder took these rough pics.

Here is the driver sitting next to a 4 foot tall speaker. The driver in that speaker is 12 inches.

I had never really thought about just how big an 18" driver was until I went and saw my buddy's I/B 18". HUGE.

This thing is going to be a lot of work. Just lining up the rings seems like an impossible job. Don't even get me started on all the sansing it will need.

At least I found my coffee.
Time for clean-up.

Worked at it all day. Pics in the morning.
It will still be a few more weeks before it's finished. This puppy is a ton of work.

Some clever planning could have solved this problem. If each piece had at least 2 spokes leading to a center hub with a hole in it you could use a dowel to align all their centers. :p

Cool stuff!

How does the driver sit? Will it have legs?

D&D is OK, but I prefer my coffee. Fresh ground Kona. Think I'll make another cup. :p
I drink fresh ground Kona coffee also! I buy it directly from a grower on the Kona coast and he ships it over. :)

Kona stuff is great, but it's quite expensive. I get freshly roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans from local grocery store, I grind with my trusty Baratza Virtuozo right before making the Moka (stove-top espresso) cup...
Makes one amazing cup of coffee...
Result is miles and miles better than any Drip coffee including brand stores ones....

but: Making coffee and speakers has few things in common : research ahead, experiment and spend time perfecting it and you'll love the result :D
