16 Genesis SACD's + bonus DVD(s) starting Mar 7

I've listened to most of Invisible Touch,the self titled one and We Can't Dance in 5.1 and I concur that they are quite good.

For anyone that doesn't have this second box set of SACD's, Amazon has a screw-up on the price of the PAL set right now, $25.99 instead of around $200 where it should be.

I finally got mine in the mail at that price . I ordered them not too long after this link was posted 2 copies actually one for me and one for my dad and everything went through fine. The ship date was supposed to be right after Christmas but it came and went with me getting a notice the ship date was going to be pushed back the same thing happened so I called Amazon to complain figuring the order would be canceled. The first time I called they adjusted the order so it would ship, but it never did as the item number linked had been removed from the site so I called back again and got the run around when I was told I would receive a call back from them and never did. Finally I called a third time and because of the way I was treated along with the fact that my order was never canceled they had me reorder both copies under the new item number and adjusted the price then I got them a couple days later. All in all worth the the wait a great set especially for what I paid . Plus it finally gave me a reason to region unlock up Oppo which was incredibly easy.

I still have all four box sets, and I've confirmed that I'm okay with the shipping delay.

It now lists them as Shipping estimate: January 15, 2008 - January 22, 2008

If you are talking about the pricing error on Amazon for the 1983-1998 set they will keep delaying the package until you call and complain. I had the same situation the problem is after the pricing error they changed the item number so the incorrectly priced ones would not ship. I called and asked what the deal was and they told me since the order was not canceled they would fulfill it. I would go ahead and contact them if I were you otherwise it will be delayed forever.

edit: They might cancel I have a feeling they might have shipped mine because I had to call on three separate occasions to get the problem sorted out, but I am near 100% if you don't call you won't get the items because the tech people couldn't find the item number I was telling them.

Box set 3 Gabriel era is here!

Well I figured I'd dust off this post. I should have Box set 3 in the next few days. From the reviews I've read, this should be a real treat for fans.
Also this preorders on this box have outsold Box 1&2 alone.
Amazon.com has them for $95 (cd/dvd set), the SACD set is a bit more of course.

I got my this-order-is-shipped e-mail from Amazon.ca yesterday. The funny thing about it is that my order says "Hybrid SACD", but when I click on the product description, it says "CD".

I e-mailed Amazon to find out the deal, and they just said that if I receive something I didn't want, I could always return it.

Talking with an Amazon rep on the phone, she had no clue, assured me that I would receive the Hybrid SACDs, but if I receive something else, I could always return it.

This is really ticking me off. I don't know what I'm gonna get in the mail now! I'm still pretty excited though!

By the way, great article, Mike; thanks for linking to it! I wish they talked more about the new mixes rather than just the music, but it was well worth reading.

Amazon.ca shipped my CD box set today. Grrr! I talked with them on the phone and they said they'd ship the correct SACD box set immediately. And I just received an e-mail from them saying to expect my new order of the CD box set very soon!

Maybe someday this'll get resolved.

Yeah I'm a little skeptical of what I'm going to receive from Amazon.com. Mine is schedule to arrive tomorrow (11/13). The description says it is the SACD version, but the price is too cheap to agree... nevertheless, I couldn't afford the SACD version right now anyway. So, I will have to be happy with the dvd/cd version for the time being! Or... I could call Amazon and moan and groan about getting something different then advertised!

That's exactly what I did! I told them what they did was unacceptable. That if I had sent less money than I was supposed to, Amazon would quite rightly demand I send them the full amount. They sent me less than they were supposed to, and I demand that they send me what they agreed to send me. And according to their last e-mail to me, they "need to research this a bit further--we will write back with an answer in the next 3-5 business days."

Who knows? Maybe they'll actually send me the SACD box set!

In the meantime, I have two (!!!) CD box sets sitting here, unopened. I can hear them calling to me, "supervij, supervij, you know you want to play us! DTS sounds just as good, you'll see!"

Wow.. I got mine and I am very impressed. The best news is is that there doesn't seem to be any compression issues.

I have started off with Selling England.. wow, I can close my eyes and the band is recording this album in my living room! It is crystal clear, unreal.

The Lamb - had to watch the dvd in 5.1 and see the slide show, awesome!

That's where I'm at so far.. drooling...

A friend of mine who's on the official Genesis forum tells me that the best deal to be had is HMV Japan, provided you want NTSC and get the multi-buy discount (where you buy three items (CDs, DVDs, BDs) from their multi-buy list, and get 25% off the total). It's 20,403 Yen ($223 US approx.) by itself, or 17,003 Yen ($186 US approx.) with the discount.

Actually my parents want a last minute xmas idea and wanted to order it locally so I'd rather it be done domestically. I really want Selling England, Foxtrot and Trespass on SACD since I don't even have copies of those on CD. thanks.

Do you have any of the albums? Since you said you wanted those 3 albums on SACD, it sounds like you might have Nursery Cryme and The Lamb, though to my knowledge not available alone. Anyhow, I think the SACD version must be ordered. Not likely findable domestically. I've read some people like the DTS version better than the SACD version, surprisingly.
