    Tyler Acoustic Placement

Speaker placement Thanks, I read through them. I also read Dr Winer's book on placement and noticed he gave special emphasis to "symmetry." I have also familiarized myself with the so-called "Golden Ratio." What I am looking for is some practical advice from those with experience placing...

    Tyler Acoustic Placement

Hello, I just ordered some new speakers from Tyler Acoustics. I am getting a pair of D3M monitors (big MTM monitors rated down to 35hz) and a pair of DS12 subs (essentially a Rythmik F12 with a driver designed by Dannie Richie) I know I will have to do lots of tweaking, but I would like...

    Monitors or Full Size Spekers

I am relatively new to higher end audio. *I am curious what advantages/disadvantaged there are to having a monitor plus subs versus a full range/size speaker. *Assuming you were going to spend $5000 for speakers, would you spend: 1) $1600 on two Rythmic F15's + $3400 on a pair of monitors...

    Rythmic F15

Thanks again, The following comes from Rythmic. These are the three settings for low pass: ----Low pass slope setting Use EXT/12 with bass management or externalcrossover. Otherwise, use 80 Hz/24. 50 Hz/24 is for full range main speakers crossing to subwoofer at or below 50 Hz.----...

    Rythmic F15

Thanks for all the help. What I hear a couple of you saying is to connect the preouts on the yammie (RCA) to the line in on the Rythmic. Then connect the line out on the Rythmic to the main ins on the yammie. Right? I am a noob, so may I ask a couple questions? 1) the yammie manual says...

    Rythmic F15

The manual says a sub connects to the pre out. About the spl meter. That's where I am lost. Is these a site that explains subwoofer setup for dummies? I love music, but I am technologically challenged.:o. Thanks.

BTW, I also have a Cambridge Audio 840e, but I don't plan on using it with that system. Either way it is two channel.

    Rythmic F15

I have one of these on the way. Anyone use one of these with klipsch Fortes? Any suggestions for setup? Good place to set the crossover? General advice on integration? I appreciate the help, Chip. Two channel only.

    Bass traps

Thanks. I did put them in. I decided to use superchunks with a 24" face up to 4'. In the ceiling corners I made solid pyramids out of the 703. I also put up absorption at all first reflection points, except the ceiling. Haven't had the time to get to them. My wife is in the process of...

    Audio Metallurgy GA-0 Advice

IC's I bought them because I heard and read good things about them. I bought the 1.5m for $250. At that price I thought I would give them a whirl. Not a fanboy, just trying something different.

    Bass traps

I am putting in some DIY bass traps.* I have 4x24x48 rigid fiber glass.* From what I have seen, it won’t be hard to make the trap.* I can make a frame, upholster it, and stick it in the corner.* But here’s where I have a couple questions.* First, what if I put another 16” piece behind the 24”?*...

Adagio Zen Adagio not blowing me away.

Adagios Thanks. No, I am not giving up on them. I just honk they are going to be finicky and I need to spend the time. I will put the outriggers on this evening.

Adagio Zen Adagio not blowing me away.

OK, this was a surprise. *I picked up a pair of Acoustic Zen Adagios yesterday to replace my Klipsch RF-83's. *I thought the AZA's would blow the 83's away. *Not so much. Let me begin with a disclaimer. *I spent a lot of time placing the 83's and getting the toed in just right. *Haven't done...

    Room setup for two channel

First, let me apologize for the lousy renderings. Second, if you offer any suggestion: THANKS! Here’s my situation. This is my basement. It is finished with standard drywall and carpeted. I will be using it for two channel listening. I can go with “option 1,” which makes the actual...

Klipsch RF-83 or Acoustic Zen Adagio

Yep, I am picking up some Fortes at the same time I pick up the Adagios. The RF-83's are all but sold. I heard the Adagios (although not in my house) and was greatly pleased. The Fortes (and a pair of Chorus will be connected to an Onkyo M-504 and P-304. The Adagios will be powered by...

Cambridge and Marantz as a pre

If it is for your main system, I would definitely go for the Cambridge Audio 840a v2. CA is coming out the the 851a this summer and these can be had at a great price. I am guessing you could get a v2 almost new for under $700.
