Axiom Audio Epic 80 Home Theater System vs. Paradigm Ref. 100 System

I've got the Axiom M60's along with the M22's for rears & VP-100. All are excellent. I don't have the best room configuration for this combo but with some patience I've managed to find a placement that works. I'm using a Velodyne sub (DLS-4000) so I can't comment on the 500 or 600. However, a...

    bigger woofer always better?

One thing I noticed when searching for a sub was that I didn't find many smaller subs that would reach below 30Hz. I'd love to add a ML sub to my system but I'd have to question myself as to whether I could do just as well w/o paying ML prices.

    Martin Logan/Vienna Acoustics

I've had pretty good luck getting discounts at Magnolia. Timing is everything though. I've seen them offer some of their high dollar stuff @ 30-40%. Most of the time that applies to demo's, but it never hurts to ask or just make them an offer.

    killer concert's on dvd

I second the Eagles-Live at Melbourne...........I'm not a big Eagles fan but this was well done. Excellent camera work & video quality, sound,& choice of songs. They play selections from every members' solo works as well as most Eagles classics. Also check out Roger Waters-in the...

    Component Video Cable Woes

Do you have, or have you had, a progressive scan DVD player hooked up via component cbls? Picture OK? If so, it may be a faulty STB...........you didn't mention if the tech swapped out the unit to eliminate that possibilty.

    War on Terror

Thanks for your service Matt..............may God bless you. I despise war as I'm sure most do. But if we didn't retaliate we'd be that much worse off the next time these f....n scumbags hit us (or try to). Because of how our society has evolved we are a target of some & disliked by many...

Is sacrificing HDMI a big deal?

I am not an expert on this subject, but I've heard that issues such as the one you're describing stem from the HDMI signal not reacting real well when put through a repeater, which is apparently what the receiver acts as when used in this manner. Again, I can't say for sure..........this is just...

    Dumbass of the Day

I just moved into a new house 3 weeks ago. I was up on a ladder putting up my SAT dish one day when a realtor showing the house next door asks me if I'm putting up a SAT dish. I looked at him, then looked at the dish & said, "no". He gave me one of these:confused: , then walked away. He...

    Audioholics making Football Picks?!?!?!?!?!?

That's the same elementary thinking that has cost plenty of people plenty of dough so far.;) People kept dogging the Seahawks & then, consequently, try to make excuses why they beat the snot out of Wash. & Carol..........................I'm expecting more of the same & it has already begun...

Not exactly a newb, but need some help...

You're going to need some new/ different cables......... get some COMPONENT cables (RGB = red/green/blue) & attach them from the cbl box to the TV. You'll want the same going from the back of the DVD portion of the unit to another component input on the tv (should be more than 1 set of...

    Coax or Optical???

Optical cables are actually a lot tougher than you would think............however, you should avoid any tight turns or kinks as they will cause signal loss & possible reflections.

    Verizon fios tv anyone?

Where is this? Texas? They're just beginning to build it here in WA..................it'll most likely be 1-2 years before any video is available, although the other services will be ready in many areas this year. I talked to someone else who has the service already & he said the same thing.

Axiom M22's as surrounds with the M60's

I'm most likely going to hold on to the 22's & do some more experimenting with placement. Since I'm now in a house I'm going to try some room treatment as well. I expected some change or I wouldn't have bought these in the 1st place. I got what I wanted in one sense but also something I hadn't...

Axiom M22's as surrounds with the M60's

I have had my M60's for about 18-20 months & recently decided to match them with some surrounds. I had been using some Klipsch KB-1.1's & a rather cheap Klipsch cc & the combo wasn't bad at all........a bit bright a loud volumes but I kind of expected that. I figured the acquisition of some...

The "available balance" differs because you must keep a certain amount in the acct just to keep it open. I quit doing biz with BOA because they jacked the int. rate on my visa from 7% to 13 % for no reason (this was well after the intro rate period). All they would say was that it was a biz...

    Audioholics making Football Picks?!?!?!?!?!?

Alexander should prove key only if the game stays close. Seahawks run a lot out of 3 wr sets & when they have some success throwing even short passes it opens the run. Pretty elementary I know, & opposite of most mindsets. The 2nd hf is when he could be quite effective............providing the...
