There is more to a processor than just the dac quality but it does certainly help out! Denon does a great job with layout and circuit topologies and it shows in the performance of their products. The 3805 would make a great pre/pro to use in conjunction with a great dedicated amp.

AV_Phile, we apply the same policies to the cable companies whose products we review or write about. So following your logic, you may wish to look elsewhere for cable reviews as well.

Haha, are you a Paradigm employee or a brew master :) Seriously, a # of years back I demoed a Paradigm sub and was very impressed with its performance and build quality. We will try to cover their products in the near future.

Yamaha didn't provide me with much info on the receiver editor feature and it wasn't really discussed in the user manual. I think they reserve it more for the custom installer than the average Joe. When I write my review addendum, I will ping them on how to do this and try to add it in there.

Yes the Z9 does have a receiver editor feature with homebanks to store basic settings. This is why I didn't totally rail it on 1 independent global channel trim setting since it has that workaround.

Kmmd; I too am puzzled by this which is why we initially suspected a DAC upgrade to a 4396 with DSD interface support would be needed. I do have action items in for Anthem to answer some of these questions and will update the article accordingly when the info comes to us.
