$129??? That can't be right! My neighbor bought this sub last year for a bedroom system to compliment his E55ti's. I was a little hesitant since he paid almost $400 for it and felt he could have gotten a sub with better specs for the money. He wanted everything to match and got it anyways...

This is a good question and although I haven't compared both subs in the same listening environment, I use an Ultra 12 in my work out room all the time and really like it. It's compact and very tight sounding. It has a better quality driver in it, but the EMP sub is subjectively nicer looking...

I'm both happy and sad to report my RBH T system has been sold to a fellow Audioholic in Canada. He is making a nearly 2k mile drive each way to pick them up :eek: These are phenomenal speakers that I will surely miss but I know they are going in good hands to someone that will appreciate them...

It depends what your goals are. The HSU alternatives probably have more usable bass output below 30Hz but they likely don't have more output above 50Hz and IMO they don't look nearly as nice. The 1010i is a pretty musical sub and has a lot of kick to it. If you corner place it (IMO a must)...

Not really. I'd run it as small regardless. The mains should be run large b/c they have such a nice gentle roll off to mate with the subs.

My review sample accidentally had a 4 ohm driver in it meant for the single 10" model so my measurements were off below 40Hz. EMP just sent me a new driver to retest but now my damn laptop died and my new laptop runs Windows 7 which doesn't work with my serial adapter for my test gear. ARGG...

I will say Harman is probably one of the few companies that don't suffer from "familiarity bias" in their test results. Yes I have read their test results and I still feel their sample size (alternative brands / models) are too small and limited to come to some of the conclusions they have come...
