Axiom does have a history of changing products based on our review criticism. With the on-walls, I found leakage issues at low F and they changed the gasket to fix it. I found many issues with the A1400-8 and they....discontinued it :( They are developing a new center channel with a WTMW...

Cool so they changed the HPF slope of their subs since V1 versions. Kudos to them, especially in taking the time to formally respond in an article format to your queries. Too bad they don't show how the limiter behaves when the sub is driven at higher output levels though :(

Oh boy Tom Nousaine measurements are taken in his living room without factoring out room gain. I hired him to write a review for us and couldn't publish it giving the inaccuracies of his measurements. This is why its important to understand test conditions when trying to compare measurements...

Brent's CEA test results are all over the map as can be seen with his DD15+ measurements that not only exceeded mine of the same sub, but even josh's measurements of the DD18+! The same issue was noted via his measurements of the SVS pb12nsd.

I don't understand how the charts don't correlate between the SVS and Velodyne reviews? The measurement procedure is identical and all documents, the graphs and scales are all the same. :confused:

take my derogatory comments as tongue in cheek. I still have NY Italian blood in me and often vent frustrations and then I'm fine moments later. Perhaps a post pad would be a more appropriate venue :) Velodyne driver is proprietary so I seriously doubt it shares any tech with Funk Audio...

If our critics spent more time actually reading the reviews and studying the graphs, they could easily directly compare measurements. I even attached an excel spreadsheet to the main page of each of the reviews tabulating all CEA data yet hardly anyone noticed. We follow a consistent and well...

High distortion (ie. 20%) at low F can still sound very pleasing and be inaudible, unless its port chuffing which in this case doesn't exist b/c its a sealed sub. While the DD18+ doesn't have as much output as a ported sub such as the fabulous PB13-Ultra, it does have excellent sound quality...

Interestingly enough, their whole jargon about being part of the research at the NRC with Dr. Floyd Toole isn't even accurate. All of that research was done by Floyd and his team years before Axiom ever entered the NRC. I was told this directly by Floyd himself!

It's pretty clear to me that they are saying reviewers don't qualify with measurements why one sub is better than another. Also the whole tone of the article is to trust your ears over anything else using music, and of course you can't compare subs unless its done blind, which again is ridiculous.

No, get the RX-A1000 if you can get it for a few hundred $$$ cheaper.
