The DSU won't engage if a native Atmos signal is present so you're fine.

It's really bizarre to me that anyone would only play the 5.1 or 7.1 layer of an Atmos track just to upmix it to Auro. I prefer native immersive audio to simulated any day. If the object was to have sound come from every speaker all of the time, why not just play the 2CH track in ALL Channels...
