RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

The 1266 has a separate enclosure for the mids/tweets and is about the same volume as a 661-SE/R, though the 661-SE/R is a ported design and a bit more efficienct since it isn't padded down to match sensitivity of the 12" side firing woofer.

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

If you are setting up a home theater system, I would suggest going with 661-SE/R's with 2 subs over 1266-SE/R's. It is difficult to properly integrate a full range speaker such as a 1266 with additional subs. The reason most people don't think a good bookshelf speaker with subs can compete...

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

I am not sure about a 15% price increase but I did hear they are increasing their prices very soon. It has been two years since their last price sheet was released and rumor has it they are about to launch some additional product upgrades in different models.

    Bands with two drummers?

I think some of Phils best drumming was from the Seconds Out era till the Abacab tours. He also did great in the We Can't Dance Tour as well.

    Bands with two drummers?

Please don't tell me you consider Pat Mastelotto to be a competent drummer. At best he is the Kenny G of drummers and IMO a real insult to be paired with Bill Bruford.

I am not sure what to make of this since the story seems to change every month but here's hoping: http://musicnews.virgin.net/Virgin/Lifestyle/Music/virginMusicNewsDetail/0,13556,1080384_music,00.html

Riser for 2nd row of seats....how high should it be?

I should have this riser built in a month or so. I am working out all of the details now. The cool thing about this riser is it serves as a bass trap and also a very natural resonator which should add nice tactile response to the row. Don't build a standard riser without implementing these...

Riser for 2nd row of seats....how high should it be?

A riser for your second row is a great idea, especially if you build it to act like a bass trap. I am in the process of building such an animal and will be writing an article on it. Typically you want your second row to be between 6-9 inches higher than the first row of seats.

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

They DESIGN / Engineer their own drivers, then take the design and outsource it for manufacturing. This is what most companies do that also claim they make their own drivers. This is usually the best way to get manufacturing costs down.

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

With this system, who needs surround sound? ;) They will have a matching center without the bass module and eventual surround speakers to compliment them.

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

That system will blow your mind and likely set a new standard for your expectations of loudspeakers. However, given the amount of subs you have, you can probably get away with a T2 system run full range for the main channels and using your HSU/SVS subs for the LFE channel. It also saves...

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

They ARE NOT THE SAME DRIVERS! RBH has designed their driver from the ground up. There is more to a driver than its basket. RBH has speced the cone material, shape, voice coil former, spider and surround. They do NOT outsource this driver and has been inhouse for their Status products for...

Please re-read my last post. I said to compare the RXV-4600 Measurements NOT the 2600. Clint did the 2600 measurements on an Oscope and function generator which is not as precise as my Audio Precision. Anything beyone 2Vrms out of the preamp section is mostly academic since most amps will...

    Power consumption confusion

Power consumption rating on receivers is usually not MAX figure. Its usually with 2 channels at full power and the others at 1/8th.

You can directly compare my measurements (Freq response, SNR, Distortion)of the DMC-1 and Yamaha RX-V4600. The 2600 preamp section is actually an improvement on the 4600 since it can output over 4Vrms unclipped as opposed to around 1.7Vrms of the 4600.

No I don't say that. I do however feel it is a match for any preamp in the $3k or less price category with respect to performance, bass management, and feature set. That depends on a # of factors including room size, speaker type, listening preferences, room characteristics. More power...
