That is good advice and yes they are all great products with their own associated strengths and weaknesses. The DMC-1 and MPS-1 is a great combo, one to be very proud of. I am a big fan of the MPS-1 which is why I use it in my family room system :D

Which Yamaha were you comparing it too? How did you level match the two processors? Did you have the same bass management settings, speaker delay settings, trim calibrations, etc? I don't doubt your listening preference as much as the method you used to compare the two units.

Yes the 2600 would be my pick for best A/V processor under $3k, though some may prefer using a dedicated pre/pro from the same manufacturer as their amp to match them aesthetically. Also, the 2600 runs hot even in idle which is a consideration for those with limited rack space for venting it.

The 1266s will still work well even if they are placed 5 or 6 inches off the backwall. Any chance you can push them off the wall a bit? Otherwise, you may have to resort to stuffing them with BIG socks :D

You can't do that b/c the crossover for the 1266 is different. You can however upgrade the 1266's to 1266 SE/R's. You should call RBH and find out what is involved. Best case scenario its as simple as swapping out the drivers. Worst case scenario you have to change out the crossover and...

Actually they have a combination of poly fill and dacron insulation. The pic you are viewing was of just the cabinet with nothing in it as noted in the review.

Damn I didn't realize they were releasing this in DVD-A and I just bought the CD :( Regardless, this CD rocks and I think the sound quality is very good. My favorite track right now is H Gang. This CD has a very similar feel to Nightfly IMO.
