That's a very good point. H/K reliability has been a bit shoddy in the past from my experience as well. I was hoping the new generation would be better as this unit looks very well constructed for its price point. I will see if we can line up a review of this receiver soon. In the meantime...

those big thru-hole caps on the audio board look interesting. I'd love to get my hand on a unit to see if they are beneficial or not. Some people may not realize that part quality means nothing if the layout and placement of parts causes their own issues.

It's not a career goal for me but if anyone wants to submit an Oppo based BD player to me to have a look, I will certainly do that. I prefer to get a new player so nobody cries foul play that the unit was defective after we test it however.
