    EMPTek R55Ti vs Chane A5rx-c

    Looks like poor resonance control on the tweeter. My god that's a big bump up at 20kHz. Though I bet the top end sounds very airy as a result.

    Outlaw Model 5000 Multi-Channel Amplifier: Best Deal of the Year?

    Agreed regulating a power supply for an amplifier is not a good idea since you will essentially be wasting power to regulate. I had a friend that did this with his amps and although they sounded great and measured great, they were relatively low power as a result.

    Agreed. $600 buys you a lot of sub these days from SVS, HSU and Rythmik for example.

    Pioneer SP-EBS73-LR Dolby Atmos Elite Concentric Bookshelf Speaker Overview

    I got to hear a full AJ speaker setup at my local Magnolia. I though the audio sounded pretty good but the Atmos effect was virtually non-existent. My wife couldn't stand them at all. Said all the sound was confined at the speaker without much of the 3D effect they are touted to have. I...

    Home Theater Protection: How to Save your AV System

    There are many ways to ruin fragile speakers and expensive electronics, but there are just as many safeguards you can implement to protect your equipment. There are well known solutions, such as surge protectors, but power surges aren’t the only threat. You can also overheat amplifiers, melt...

    Oppo = Crap???

    Why not deal with Oppo customer service directly? I wasn't even aware they had an authorized dealer network??? Oh and I've owned DVD and Blu-ray players from: Panasonic, Oppo, Denon, and Marantz, etc. To date I've never had a Denon last me more than 2-3 years without some reliability issue...

    Legacy Audio Studio HD Speakers Reviewed

    The Legacy Audio Studio HD bookshelf speakers are shocking. Usually when someone talks about an American, hand-crafted speaker with amazing high-frequency detail (thanks to a unique tweeter), a top-of-the-line cabinet, and high-end finish options, you start to imagine the price tag going up, and...

    THX Acrhomatic Audio Amplifier / Benchmark AHB2

    Man the Santa belly laughs are a bit hard to stomach...:eek: Laurie looks like he want's to be somewhere else in much of the video. The fear of crossover distortion in Class AB amps has been nullified over 20-30 years ago. It's really not an issue anymore with employment of quality...

    A listing of the Best Bookshelf Speakers for $500/pair

    Let's face it, when space is tight, your best bet to getting good sound is a pair of bookshelf speakers mated with a subwoofer tucked away out of sight. $500/pair seems to be a good sweet spot where respectable performance and good aesthetics can be had in the same package. While there are so...

    I have a speaker cable length question.

    Audible differences are hard to snuff out in controlled listening tests. It's very easy to measure a difference but not so much to hear a difference when dealing with cables. Focus first on building a quality system with proper speaker placement and setup. Then work on the room acoustics...
