What are your picks on best loudspeakers ever made?

I often get the question “What are the best speakers in the World?” from fellow Audioholics and/or from family or friends. I typically tell them that it really depends on the situation. Of course, people that don’t know audio are often surprised when I DON’T tell them Bose is the best. I usually...

Dolby Atmos Transformers 4 Blu-Ray Review

Steve When you went back to 11.1 without the height speakers, was the Yamaha still processing it in Atmos or did it say TrueHD? Are you using a Yamaha DSP post processing mode or straight?

Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A3040 AV Receiver Overview

Yep. It's one of the main reasons why I won't upgrade my RX-Z7 in my family room system. It's their last AV receiver with the orange display. Call me old school :)

    RBH Sound Owner's Thread

Not quite. Tonality is similar but the 8300 has a more dynamic and larger sound due not only to the bigger bass drivers but bigger mids as well.

Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A3040 AV Receiver Overview

The Yamaha does not use an SMPS. It's a linear supply just like the Denon. They rate the power consumption differently. I think Denon rates max power while Yamaha rates full PWR for 1 CH and all other channels 1/8th power. Check this article for a bit more info...

    Gotham

This show isn't half bad TBH. But IMO Fish Mooney is it's weakest link. Poor acting on her part and I hope she gets killed off sooner than later. Question to all Batman fans: Is Gordon's partner Harvery Bullock a future Harvey Dent that becomes Two-Face? Or is he a different character all...

That only happened in the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman movie. AS far as I know, the Joker was never connected to the Wayne murders in any other Batman stories.

    Driver connection not marked

I've always seen markings on RBH drivers. Make sure you are in a well lite room and perhaps even use a magnifying glass to examine around the speaker posts for polarity markings or even a red dot indicating +. TLS has great advice too. Either way, call RBH.

    RBH Sound Owner's Thread

I replied in your other thread. Either look for the small + and - designations near the connectors or on the connector tab or look for a size difference of the physical connector tabs. It's very important to get polarity correct.

    Driver connection not marked

NO! You need to make sure you get the polarities right. You should either see + and - markings near the terminals or on the terminal plate or one connector should be bigger or fatter than the other. Look very carefully and make sure you get the polarity right. If in doubt, contact RBH Tech...

Denon AVR-X5200W Dolby Atmos AV Receiver Reviewed

Unfortunately Denon will not be coming out with a high end processor to replace the AVP. Marantz was supposed to do it instead but it got scrapped. Lack of demand in a shrinking industry with the common denominator of making cheaper and cheaper feature laden stuff. People have no problem...

Audyssey can be hit or miss depending on mic position and how it does its setup. I've generally seen favorable results with Audyssey though sometimes to over corrects and can actually add unwanted resonances. I really wish there was a way to restrict amount of boost/cut and also the BW of...
