Agree 100% Buy whatever speakers sound good to you. The only time electronics are a factor is if the speakers present an unusual load (very low impedance, for example), and then it is a matter of the amp havng sufficient power.

Having grown up long before the internet existed, I could certainly do without it. I enjoy having it, though. I particularly like being able to buy things that I cannot find locally.

For HT I bought BP10s (front) and BP8s (surround.) If I had it to do again, I would probably have BP8s in front also. I enjoy the BP8s for stereo music, but lately I find myself preferrring my KRK ST6 monitors over everything else I have tried (even with their limited bass.)

Marketing is the only thing that those brands have in common.:eek: Def Tech makes great sounding speakers. Bose speakers totally suck.

It is a tough comparison to make. Being bipolar, the Def Techs sound fundamentally different than either of the others.

I still have a pair of Athena F1s (in storage at my parent's house.) They sound quite good for the price.
