Yamaha GT-5000 Turntable Overview on Audioholics YouTube Channel
My Marantz TT-15S1 uses a straight arm but angles the cartridge. It sounds superb! I'm not well versed in turntable mechanics but I can tell you the listening demo of the Yamaha GT-5000 was incredible. If it was as problematic as you claim, I don't think the end result would have been so positive.

Yes you were shorting half the signal most likely. Now that you're not, you got +6dB back.

not great search terms for what you're looking for. And Google sucks lately too. Glad I was able to send you the link here. Hope it was helpful.

check for whiskers in your speaker cable terminations at the back of the amp and at your speakers. Make sure you rule out shorts. Try different channel pairs next. IF all else fails, you have a defective unit. Swap it out with your dealer.

Marantz AV 10 15.4CH AV Processor Bench Test Results!
This amp sounds great to my ears. I'm not sure why Shane Lee thought it sounded rolled off. My measurements and listening tests don't concur with that opinion.

No I didn't and I suspect it wouldn't maintain the 400 watts x 7 based in it would require 25A from the outlet to do so.

No bc of that blip I measured with only 1Ch of a blade driven, I didn't do that. I bridged all 5 of my bed layer speakers and single amp connected the heights. It's a great sounding amp so far.

My test report is online but not published yet as I'm waiting on confirmation from Marantz Engineering about something. Their result of 200wpc with 1 or 7CH driven is accurate and I discuss it in my report in great detail.
