That's a question you ask before buying. The Panasonic AE3000 is a phenominal projector that can be had for that price and it's 1080p.

Many of the current 1080p projectors have processors that KILL tv processors. Most include HQV Reon, or something similar in terms of performance.

Yea, the 5000R's extension stops around the mid 20s in Jazz/Classical. I noticed that while it was really powerful and shook my room, it didn't go down as low my my SVS 10 does now. I ended up selling it after much contemplation. Great, sub though.

Thanks guys. I've noticed that when I have all speakers running, the hiss from my speakers is louder than I wanted it to be, particularly during a quiet passage. I think I may be overdriving the amp section. That's why I was wondering if an amplifier would help.
