Recently I heard a pair of Maggy 20.1's. They are the best real world speakers I've ever heard. I have heard the Infinity IRS's and Apogee Grand's. They are both in a class by themselves.:D

I haven't heard all the ones on the list. Of the ones I have heard the Maggy 3.6R's are the ones to beat. They are one of the best sounding speakers available at any price. FWIW I own full range ESL's. My opinion is based on the Magneplanar, Apogee, ESL type of sound.:cool:

Surround sound processors aren't my thing but as an Owner of an ARC preamp that would be the way I would go. ARC will still service and upgrade your gear ten years from now. Halcro may be out of business then.:D

According to B&O those models have internal power amplifiers. They need only a preamp to work. When using them with a receiver you would use the pre-outs to drive your speakers. Any receiver or device that has variable line level outputs would work fine.:cool:
