Best male singing voice ever...who has it?!

I suppose people like Tom Waits fit the criteria? Tom Waits can't sing. He is pretty good at telling stories but singer, puleeeeze. If Rock or R&B were supposed to be the options where did all those others come from. Gene has come closer to listing people who can actually sing than most...

Best male singing voice ever...who has it?!

Some of the choices here make me wonder if some of you guys really listen to music. The question is "best male singing voice", not latest wacko of the week or strangest most weather worn voice of the moment. If it isn't Bennett, Sinatra or someone of that caliber it has to be an opera singer.:D

    5 identical speakers

Timbre matching is the good thing if nothing else. I use 4 ESL's. From 100hz up I have the same sound from 4 speakers. My fronts are 2 ESL panels per side from 85hz up. My rears are 1 ESL panel per side from 100hz up. I don't use a center front.

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

Not so! Only ported speakers suck. They also blow. They do it through the vent/tube. Planars don't got no stinkin' port. So they can't suck!:D

Anybody hear or see a pair, in person?

They remind me of the Design Acoustics D12. Of course they were much larger. They were full range speakers. I've never heard a pair but always wanted to.

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

Fess up and tell the truth! Unless you acquired those ML's illegally there is no logical reason to leave them in your "basement" un-repaired. Even if you have to pay for repair that's better than having 2 pair of speakers wasting away in your "basement".:D

    Need some bass... Suggestions?

    All the Titanics 10", 12" and 15" are sealed.

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

Just where are you that ML will not service your speakers? Is it impossible for you to ship them to an authorized service center? If you don't want them I'll take them off your hands. I won't pay much. After all they are broken.:D If you were using 200WPC to try and...

    Need some bass... Suggestions?

I agree with markw. The Dayton Titanic sub woofer kits may be the best sub woofer buys out there. All things considered a 12" woofer is capable of moving more air than a 10". Moving air is what bass is all about.

Legacy Audio - Sig III vs Focus 20/20

ctwed, you should exchange notes with DUP on the Stereophile site. He is quite knowledgeable about Legacy products. He has a pair of Legacy Whispers. If you can get past his constant pushing of AVA electronics you may get some information.:D

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

Are you saying you have a legally purchased product and you can't get service? I find it hard to believe that ML would not support their products. Would you mind explaining just how you destroyed 2 pair of ML ESL's? Also would you mind giving the model name? One last question, if...

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

All Acoustats have covers. I listen to a wide variety of music and regularly attend live music concerts at the Kimmel center here in Phila. I regularly stress my system by playing music that has +100db peaks. That's plenty loud for me. I have not heard of the kind of of problems you...

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

If you were playing them at 115db that's probably why they are broke. If you haven't been playing them at that level how do you know what happens. FYI I smoke and my Acoustat ESL's work just fine and have done so for more than 8 years. Of course I've never attempted to play them...

Anyone heard of "Kingsound" electrostatic loudspeakers?

Are you serious? Who in their right mind listens to anything at 116db? Is your hearing already damaged? I'm tempted to ask, just what kind of speakers do you use and at what kind of levels?:D If that's the kind of levels you normally use then you are on the wrong...

Enter to Win: 10-Outlet Surge Suppressor from Impact Acoustics!

Contest Questions: What kind of surge protection do you currently utilize in your system? Does your surge protector also condition and filter power? Is this a feature you feel is important? Under what conditions would you consider power conditioning/filtering? 1. I currently use a Tripplite...

Take a look at what room correction can do for you.

Just when I thought I could spend some money on a new car you have to show those graphs. Seriously, the differences are impressive. I have to look into getting one of those Tact 2.2's:eek:

    Casette/tape deck recommendations

Go with a used Nak. Even a used Nak will sound an order of magnitude better than anything else. I've got two, a LX-3 and a ZX-7. The noise reduction on them works superbly. I use the tapes they were adjusted for. For the ZX-7 I can adjust it for any tape because of the built in tone generators...
