Denon AVR-4520ci has arrived and is installed.

Analog or Denon Link HD? I couldn't tell the difference even with DL 3.

I'm using the Denon Link HD and one HDMI cable from the amp output on the DBT-3313UDCI. This deck is just a transport. The AVR-4520 is doing all of the DAC conversion. This was following your earlier recomendation- with exeption of Denon Link HD versus your Denon Lin 4 suggestion. The AVR-4520 does not speak Denon Link 4 and below.
With all that said- thus far- I've no complaints. The DBT-3313UDCI was purchased from a Denon Authorized deal and has the factory warranty. I did get 25% off of the MSRP.

It is hard for me to compare- as it's just a transport utilizing the AVR-4520ci' internal DACs. Wouldn't it be the craps, if my $60.00 dollar panasonic sounds just as good using the AVR's DACs? I also wonder, if I used the analogs out on a high end deck such as the Oppo 105 with it's audio phile DAC, would it sound any better? I am too poor to make the last comparison!

I'm hoping I don't have to ship this beast to Illinois on my dime.

I had to repair my 3 month old Marantz but I can't remember if I had to pay the outgoing shipping.
I would call support and try to get them to pay for shipping both ways.

Sorry to hear of the amp problem! I have a 4520 and am hoping they are not trouble prone. I would hope that where it was made in Japan it would be reliable! Have you heard of a lot of problems with the 4520? I think that you may have to pick up the shipping to them. If they find it to be a warranty issue, they'll reimburse you. I think this is the policy after 90 days- I could be mistaken.

Congratulations, I really enjoy my Denon AVR-4520. I believe you will be taken to higher ground with the Denon AVR-4520 sound and features.

I am running 11.2 channel via the AVR-4520ci and the Outlaw Audio Model 770 amp. I ran an 8 point Audyssey calibration. I'll give it time before any judgement as to improvement or not.

So far- so good! I am enjoying the 11.2 channel. It sounds very pinpoint and accurate to me.
