It doesn't match my bike either, but it did come with a bike rack. Exterior is a little beat up since it lived its live in SF, but interior is extremely clean and mechanically it seems very sound. New trans/clutch with warranty on the trans. Timing belt was done and he included every service record for the car. 1 owner, 100% stock, clean title. It was a great find IMO.

Dude asked me if I wanted the bike rack because he said he would keep it originally, but when I went to pick up the car he said "Ironic thing is, my bikes were both stolen last night, so you can have the rack." Wow, that sucks; he had two nice Klines apparently.

First issue already popped up, in Subaru fashion, parts are expensive. I saw the boot was torn on one of the axles and figured it would be $100-200 to replace. Nope, special part specific to this car and cost a wonderful $400... It is going in this morning for a once over by my Subaru mechanic and hopefully to get that axle done (and not find anything else major).

Already on order: WeatherTech digital fit mats front and rear, lamin-x yellow covers for the fogs, good condition used STI top mount intercooler to replace the somewhat beat up stock one. Tint gets done on Tues.

To come: Drop it down a bit :D brakes: I have the Brembos already but need rims to clear them on this one also, so rims&tires, sst lines, rotors/pads/brembos.

Despite being ~100lbs heavier, the 2.5L turbo is a lot smoother, pulls much harder than my WRX and really hauls butt for such a large car.

Pondering these rims:

THESE are what I WANT, but they are about 3X the price (forged)

I'll be keeping on eye on your upcoming photos for a couple of Klines. ;) :D

Here's the goal. The exhaust on this Forester is the one I will be getting as well:

LOL. Nah, I felt bad about that. I wouldn't do that to anyone. He said one had sentimental value too.

Hey guys,

I have a couple of Klein mountain bikes I will let go of for dirt cheap if anyone wants them...

When I got rid of my cool cars and starting driving old man SUVs, I stopped caring about neat stuff like rims. Oddly enough, my wife didn't like the 18's on my new car and they had an option for cooler 19's with a much better spoke pattern. She talked me into getting them and I do think they look cool.

I don't want rims, I need them to clear the Brembos, so if I am going to pay, I may as well get nice looking ones too. As you can see, the Brembos aren't exactly small

I do like those Audi rims.

Hit major areas with clay bar for an hour or so then hands got tired. Still have the roof left.

Picked this up too

A little early morning road trip to the coast.

Sometimes I start to hate California, but then it does have SOME good things still :D

Congrats on the Soob! We've got an 02 Forrester, fantastic car, and we don't even have a turbocharger or manual transmission. Just from the build quality, Subaru are a cut above!

As for wheels, the second set are clearly better made. So much so that the first set I have to question if they are just cast aluminum. I would fear those wheels, especially with all the **** that seems to end up on the roads in SoCal. Your stock wheels are pretty, I would hold out and save up!

I asked my buddy who owns a shop about the first set, because it is a respected name (I currently run Prodrives on my WRX) and he even carries the brand, but he said the current rims are no longer made by OZ for them like the originals. The center caps on my P1s actually say "Prodrive by OZ". The P1s are heavy, but they were intended for Rally use. Prodrive moved on to build their own competition cars, so the rims are more appearance than function now IMO.

P1s:

The second set are by Rays, easily one of the best rim manufacturers in the market. I've owned their rims before too, and there's no question they are extremely well built and light. That's why I want them again :)

Yes sir! Reducing unsprung weight can help with efficiency in a big way for road cars. Caution only needs to be taken when getting into ultralight wheels. They suffer the same problem as cheaper cast wheels; not enough strength to with stand a pothole!

Forged wheels are significantly stronger than cast so they can actually take quite a bit of abuse, but when you DO damage them, they don't lend themselves as easily to proper repair. My buddy said if you are buying forged, order at least 5 of them.

This car is escalating quick. Found one part broken so went to order a heavy duty replacement. Dude called to answer me and I mentioned I was interested in some other parts they make too, he offered me a great deal with free shipping. Even though it was expensive, I did it because it was an awesome deal.

My alternator cover was snapped off and I was going to replace it anyway, so ordered this one:

and ended up adding this:

and this to go with the scoop:

What did you use to clear up the headlights? Just wet sand and polish or something?

Nice job on the new car John!

We just sold Ruth's 1991 Nissan 240SX last weekend. The thing had 330,000 miles on it and we ended up selling it for $1,500!!! I didn't realize how popular that car is. I guess ricers like turning them into drift cars. But the guy we ended up selling it to actually wanted it for a daily driver.

Have you thought about front mountcooling
Top mount spools better than front mount due to the length of the piping, and top mount is cooler since it is right at the throttle body. The intercooler I bought is about 40% larger than the stock one and is good to about 350HP; I don't plan to push that much power at this point :)

I meant to call you about that, but I thought you sold it. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT! Yes, the S14 is still a very popular car.
