I meant to call you about that, but I thought you sold it. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT! Yes, the S14 is still a very popular car.
Sorry about that John. If I'd have known you were interested I would have given you first crack at it.

Hears my mates car
Nice! I have plenty of friends with FMIC on their WRXs, but they have to cut their bumpers. The FXT has more room to fit one in, but I figure it will also require a bit more cutting because the openings aren't as big on this one.

Your buddy's looks to be an 06-07, so it has a different bumper than mine, and probably less cutting to get it to fit.

Nice John. Showing quite a bit of progress. Did you go in with a set of modifications you want to do or just picking off what needs updating? I just bought a Veloster Turbo last week and am thinking of doing a few modifications to add a few more HP. Thinking of starting with a cold air intake, oil catch can and a new BOV. Then down the road some suspension mods like a strut brace and lower 4 point chassis brace. I want to make sure nothing affects my warranty so I'm want to be a bit careful.

I'm trying to plan the modifications so they can get done together as applicable - suspension parts done together at one time, intercooler related parts have to go on together, etc... The mods are similar to the old car, so I had a pretty good idea going into this one what would be done. The exhaust sort of just happened because I got a good deal on it. Just found a set of rims for it for a good price but won't be able to pick them up for 2 weeks because the seller is going on vacation; will need tires for those. I am plotting the suspension setup right now and not sure exactly the direction, but likely a little more stock than previous.

On Subarus, BOV and intake are only changed on higher HP applications typically as they don't add big benefits on their own and you need to tune for them (the BOV, not the intake). Best bang for your buck suspension wise is generally swaybars and I am sure they will have them out for that car soon if not already. I'd probably take a look at what the turbo Genesis guys are doing on theirs in terms of power and tuning.

J are these things mounted yet or what, I'm waiting for the pics......................................................

One of my techs has a subaru I think it is a 2011 wrx Sti? if that makes sense, he bought it new, but added all kinds of stuff, new turbos and header, new inter coolers, complete exhaust system, different cf hood, wheels, tires, brakes, seats, ect.. last year I had to let him take the service truck home all winter because he took his perfectly functioning head off his car and sent it to California to get CNC ported and changed injectors and all kinds of stuff, I cosigned for him to buy the car and its not even paid off yet but he has invested almost as much as it cost him new in after market crap.... He loves that car, and I will admit its fast, he keeps up with the CTS-V but not on the straightaways, or when it gets room to roam, but light to light and through my neighborhood that car is a beast... The cts-v just wants to spin around, and NO not a 2013 Vee with the V6, this is a real supercharged 376ci V8, they are ruining the caddilac ctsv with this twin turbo v6 BS, Ill never buy another one, 2012 is the last real one ;( a 500hp rear wheel drive 6 speed manual, 4 door sedan that should never be tampered with, they thought changing it to a 420hp v6 was a good idea, I wrote a strongly worded letter about it but they didnt listen because the 2014 is the same way...

Tires came in. Got em mounted on the BBS and swapped out. Dunlop Sport Maxx RT rubber on there. Talked to Tire Rack and in the size, that's what they recommended for a good UHP summer tire.

Very nice, almost look like they are factory, you should take it to one of them dent doctor places, when I bought the new service trucks and was selling the old ones last year I sent 4 trucks there with dings and dents all over the place and they fixed them all (inexpensive) , you couldn't even tell where they were.. Its like $20 a panel, they use suction cups, glue, heat guns, ect and do no body work...

They look nice John. I'd have figured you would powder coat them a darker color...they do look good as is though.

Coming along very well. I agree with the comment that the wheels look factory. Maybe, too mundane? Are you getting a pro tune for the Milltek or at least a generic stage 2 map? I had the Cobb Accessport with my STi. Made the tune swaps a breeze. http://www.cobbtuning.com/subaru-forester-xt-s/7500.htm

Those wheels are OEM Subaru :) They are off an 04 STI and are highly sought after because they are forged, light and bolt right on to most other models. They do have some nicks on them from something on the spokes and I thought about getting them painted/powdercoated, but I didn't because they are rare and the previous all season tires were driving me nuts.

No AP for me - I've had that discussion with my tuner and he said they are fine until you want to go back to stock. Their stock maps are THEIRS not the actual stock map, and he recommended an open source tune. I have a STI up pipe and once I get the JDM scoop painted, I will put the TIMC on and get the tune.

I've done the paintless dent removal before and yes it works great, however the one on the wheel well there is on the crease and probably won't come out and they need to get behind it so they probably can't get that one. The front fender, those two will likely come out.

I got them pretty cheap (~$200 less than usual) because of those chips on them, but they work fine :) Worst case, I will just get them resprayed in silver again. 05 and up are a different bolt pattern so those tend to go cheap, but the 04s are much more pricey and a lot harder to find.
