Chris was certainly passionate about audio ...
Having heard Chris' efforts in speaker building first hand I can say that The Dire Straits never sounded so good. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family.

From improvements to inexpensive 2030's all the way to full blow, cement filled Infinity towers redesign the man was an audio genius well ahead of his time and as I was deeply sorry to see him these forums (for what ever reasons that may be)

Unfortunately I never had the pleasure to meet him or hear his designs but his approach to audio will always leave a mark on me personally

Rest in peace Chriss and my deepest condolences to his family

Wow, I haven't had much time to check in lately. I was shocked to read this thread. My condolences go to his family. Regardless of his transaction woes, he was a smart guy and very talented designer and constructor. RIP, Chris.

Seriously, I have no life.
Thanks for informing us/me of his passing.
I had a few interaction with him exchanging Journal articles and splitting cost of the ones we didn't have.

I built a few of the subs he designed as well as 2 by Andrew. I spoke to him many times on the phone before his misdealings with AH members. He was very intelligent when it came to speakers and design. I know Alex heard the speakers he built and they were steller. RIP Chris , you were way to young. My thoughts go out to his family and friends who knew him off the internet. The dude helped alot of folks here over the years. Its a shame ......

PM me your email address.
I personally am deeply saddened by this to me Chris was a DIY audio mentor. I put his expertise up with Dr. Mark and hoped one day to visit him. I know he wasn't perfect, but he was a genius when it comes to loudspeaker construction and engineering.

PDawg if you are offering a free design for review. I'd love to take a look at it.

I never heard of him till now, but It's sad that sickness takes so many young and talented people away from the world. Rest In Audio heaven.

Wow, I just now saw this. Regardless of what happened with him, I genuinely liked him. He had a passion for audio and music, and I'm so sorry to his family and friends. He was way too young to go. R.I.P, WmAX!

Very sorry to hear this.... Although Chris was a very uncompromising guy in discussions around here he obviously brought a lot of value to the threads with hos wealth of knowledge and first rate designs.

I know nothing about the conflicts mentioned and I have no interest in knowing more about this.

For obvious geographical reasons and the constraints implied by this I never had a chance to experience any of his designs first and but I would really like to do this!

Rest in peace Chris

Was the only person I talked to when I first joined the forum. Expounded more knowledge than I knew what to do with, and was incredibly hard to get him to dumb it down for me! But, helped me to get to the system I have and thoroughly enjoy now. (Even though I still don't understand half of what he was saying)

We are the same age, deaths from health causes are just not what you ever expect.

Wow, I just learned about this today on my birthday.

Chris and I talked almost daily, even during the times that he was known to disappear from the rest of the community.

Chris, I owe most of what I know to you. I owe you a lot for shaping my development in the audio realm. Your teachings helped propel me into the live sound industry.

I'm really gonna miss you man.

I'm going to second this. I just saw this now.

I spoke with Chris outside the boards and he never once showed any sign of being what he was accused of. I never witnessed what happened otherwise I would have given him hell about it (I stopped speaking with him due to not having AIM installed on my new computer at the time). All I know is he put up with literally any question I could think to ask him (and trust me, there was a lot of really messed up questions). I am in debt to Chris for what he has shown me, and I will never look at life the same because of it.

Rest in Piece Chris, the world is worse off without you.

I too missed this, and in reality I have missed his posts as well. If we can look past some of the issues then we can see what we have really lost and it is too bad and too sad. My heartfelt condolences to his Family, rest in peace Chris.
