Audio Power Cables / Cords - Do they really make a difference?

Seriously, I have no life.
There's something hilariously awesome about attaching a 3 foot 9 gauge cable to the end of a 50 foot piece of 14 gauge romex.
Well, just imagine the nil voltage drop in that 3 ft cable, with a BD player;):D

Wow Fuzz,

really shocked to hear that man!

If you didn't see any improvements audio & video wise with the Pangea Snake in, I'l tell you then: please CHANGE the bloody Oppo :p;):)
That makes perfect sense. Alex, send the Oppo to me immediately! I wouldn't want you to have such a defective component in your system.
Oh I will post haste. Wait, you wanted me to send you this right? :p:D

The part I like best is that it has conductors of various gauges inside. For what I don't know. That sort of thinking is difficult to comprehend in a speaker cable, where it is [falsely] aimed at reducing skin effect, but in a power cable?

Even I have to admit it is pretty, but I'd be embarrassed to have it in my system, lest anyone ask why I have a 9ga cable with a 15amp/120v plug on it. Sort of like putting Y-rated tires on a Prius... well, not that smart, actually. :)

to bridge b/w the romex and the 24 awg hookup wire inside the unit.

That looks like it will handle 220 or 221...whatever it takes.

I publicly and privately reached out to Craiglist Joe for the Nordost (or Pangea). I might order a cable from Audio Adviser or Music Direct Monday for Saturdays GTG.

Did the GTG already happen? Depending on cost I'd be happy this send this one along.

I don't understand this attitude, do people want to advance by finding out the truth or is it just popular to make fun of people that believe cables may make a difference.....

I want to know, which is why I'm shipping the above pangea power cord out to jinjuku tomorrow.

If Jinjuku, or others don't hear any difference, doesn't mean there's no difference anywhere else, if there's a difference for you, there's a difference for you....

Actually I don't hear a difference. I don't think there are any differences either. For those that do hear differences, I think that the act of purchasing one of these things has weighed too heavily on their subconscious so that it would be impossible to not hear a difference unless they were involved in some sort of SBT or DBT. YMMV, but I don't hear a darn thing, but this is only me speaking. I'm curious to send this thing off to see if this GTG hears anything different since I'm no authority on anything. :D

I see this GTG and my cord as more data, not a definitive yes or not.

We I really don't know, I wish it was so easy to say that you could just get simple cables from Blue Jeans Cable and that would be as good as it gets, I really would be happy if it's as simple as this....

In my rig, between dac and amplifier, I changed from quite expensive single ended kimber cables to simple and cheap balanced canare cables from Blue Jeans cable... I'm 100% sure there's a clear and distinct advantage to the cheaper alternative. Darn if I know what's the difference but it's there. (Since then the kimber's been put to rest)

The only other different thing is then that I take the input to my amp fully balanced instead of single-ended, perhaps that makes a difference. Stereophile and many many others claim there should be no difference using single ended and balanced input on this amp.

There should be no difference but it's there and it's not in my imagination, darn if I know it's measurable or not....

At least it's for sure my opinion that it makes a difference how you cable your system, just don't know how or why?

I do believe that some amps have higher gain on the balanced vs single ended connections. Could that be the case?

It's just funny that we get all this "try it yourself and see", then when the time comes there is no response from CLJ

Have you ever read this article?

NwAvGuy: What We Hear

Also I think what slippery said below is extremely relevant.

I do believe that some amps have higher gain on the balanced vs single ended connections. Could that be the case?
I have yet to see an instance in which there isn't a gain difference between the two, which leads me to believe that many people who hear are a difference, are only hearing a volume difference. Obviously I have no proof, but it seems reasonable assumption.

It's not about gain, come on guys !!!!!!!!!!

There may possibly be a gain difference but it's clearly less sterile, more musical via the balanced input (via the cheap cables) versus the single ended

I could get on board with higher gain, but more musical?

I'm jumping ship :p :D
